You heard Tammy’s version of my visit to Nashville last week. Today, I’ll share mine. 😉
The purpose of my trip to Nashville was to attend the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) board meeting. Each winter, we meet in the city where our annual conference will be held. We tour the hotel to get the “lay of the land” and then we spend an entire day (sometimes more) discussing the business of this wonderful organization for writers of Christian fiction. I am blessed to serve with this amazing, selfless group of people.

The conference hotel, the Omni in Nashville, is gorgeous! If you’re a writer, I hope you’ll try to attend ACFW in August!

Touring the Omni Hotel in Nashville

The board, hard at work in Nashville.

And THIS is how the coffee is served at the hotel coffee shop! Almost too pretty to drink! Almost.

Off to a fun time with Tammy after the board meeting. Our time was short, but such fun! She told you all about the donuts and a quick run through some great antique stores. Loved seeing Tammy’s family again, and their sweet little dog, Jack!

Joe and Tammy fed me well, but my favorite “recipe” I came home with is their honey rye toast! Just Kroger’s light rye bread, buttered and fried crisp on both sides and drizzled with honey. Oh. My. Word. (As Tammy would say.) Almost as good as her biscuits!

The morning after I got home, a quick cup of coffee with my friend, singer and author Ginger Millermon, turned into an adventure, thanks to freezing drizzle that trapped her and one of her sons in town. We made a slumber party of it at our house and just had a blast until they could get home the next morning after the roads were cleared.

I think this guy missed me while I was gone! I know I missed him… Oh…and Ken! 😉

Oh what fun! I can’t wait until August!
I agree, Linda! It’s going to be a great conference! See you then!
You have awakened the desire to see friends again. In cold weather I forget to do that but now I am ramped up to see everyone next weekend for a crop weekend. Thank you!
You’re going to have to enlighten me, Jen! Is a “crop weekend” something to do with scrapbooking? Farming? 😉 Either way, winter is the best time to hunker down with friends! Truly the coziest time to gather!
