When I was a girl, I wanted to find a new book under every Christmas tree. Were you the same? Looking ahead to that most wonderful time of year again, I’m sharing a few new Christmastime reads set in England you may want to find under your tree.
A Very English Christmas: Three Literary-Inspired Novellas by Carrie Turansky, Marguerite Gray, and Carole Lehr Johnson
Celebrate the season with three timeless tales that span the Regency to Victorian to Edwardian eras, inspired by Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Beatrix Potter.
Inspirational; sweet; clean. I saw Carrie Turansky this summer, and when she told me about this collection and the story that ties them together, I was intrigued. Plus this cover is gorgeous! On my wish list!

Danger at Darkmoor Park by Syrie James
While trapped by a blizzard at a remote country manor house over Christmas, a school headmistress teams up with a handsome doctor to solve a murder and hunt for hidden treasure. Part of a series but can be read and enjoyed alone.
Secular; sweet; basically clean. A romantic whodunit set during a Victorian Christmas house party. A likeable heroine and a handsome, mysterious doctor team up to find hidden fortune and a murderer. Will love or danger find them first? If you like Jane Austen and Agatha Christie, you’ll enjoy this one, too.
A Sea View Christmas by Julie Klassen
Sarah Summers regrets rejecting widower Callum Henshall’s romantic overtures when he visited Devonshire. Could a trip to Edinburgh and an unexpected visit bring a second chance for love?
Inspirational; sweet; clean. Readers are loving this recent release and the many positive reviews are definitely a wonderful Christmas gift for me! I hope you will enjoy it as well.
Any other Christmas novels—especially set in England—I should add to my TBR pile?

Hi Julie, thanks so much for sharing A Very English Christmas with reading friends here at Inspired by Life and Fiction! We’re excited to see it going out into the world to be enjoyed this holiday season.
Julie,
Thank you so much for including our book. You are a blessing!
God bless,

Julie, thank you for sharing our Christmas stories. What a privilege to share this collection with you and your readers. Blessings to you and yours. Marguerite
I have your Sea View Christmas ready to read after I read A Seaside Homecoming this month!
Oh! Thanks, Marguerite!
Kristi Ann Hunter has a short story in the book Gift of the Heart (Karen Witemeyer and Becky Wade has short stories book as well) called ‘A legacy of Love’ I thought that was adorable super sweet very clean. It’s apart of the Haven Manor series. and Charles dickens has other Christmas stories aside from a Christmas Carol.
1. The chimes
2. The cricket on the Hearth
3.the battle of life
4. The haunted man
and then Louisa May Alcott has a book called the “Louisa May Alcott’s Christmas treasury” it has every single novella, short stories, and Novelette that she ever wrote about Christmas, and I’m sure that they are all based in New England.
Great ideas, Makayla. Thanks so much!

3. the battle of life
4. Cricket on the hearth
and then Louisa May Alcott’s Christmas treasury has every thing that she has ever wrote about Christmas and i know that she is based in New England
I always love historical Christmas books. It seems like they are harder to find! I definitely have these three on my list!
I recently listened to Christmas at Seaview. I loved the story and was so happy follow more of Sarah’s story!
Thanks so much, Carrie!
I loved receiving books for Christmas. A favorite was a beautiful, illustrated edition of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales in its own case that I received when I was ten and still have. I always had books under the tree for my children and also give them to my grandchildren.
I already have A Sea View Christmas and am waiting to read it with a friend. Ordered A Very English Christmas today and am waiting to order Danger in Darkmoor Park when it comes out in paperback. Have read the other two in this series. Great recommendations!
Glad to hear it, Betty. Thanks for letting me know.
…and that friend can hardly wait! Betty bought a copy for each of us. Julie, I think the Sea View series is your very best and can’t wait to read the newest entry!
