Not-to-be-missed encouragements

September 21, 2021 By Tamera Alexander

Hey friends!

Do you need some encouragement either in your writing or personal life? Me too!

First, for writers…

Royal Writers Conference is coming up and, bless them, they’ve asked me to keynote for the conference. Tons of fabulous writers will be teaching and sharing their knowledge and journeys as well. I’m so excited to be part of this ONLINE event and invite you to join us!

Registration opens on September 29 and closes on November 3rd. The conference website has all the info—including faculty bios, workshop descriptions, the conference schedule, appointment information, FAQs, and a registration page.

I’m taking mentoring appointments the week AFTER the conference, so if you’re interested in those, I’d love to connect with you and encourage you in any way I can.

Next, some encouragement from Matthew.

You’ve heard me mention Kristi McLelland before, author of Jesus & Women, a phenomenal Bible study. Kristi has a new devotional from Matthew 2 that really poured fresh hope into my heart today. I pray it does yours too.

Listen to Kristi’s message taken from Matthew 2

Is there an upcoming “encouraging” event you’d like to share with the group today? Something you’re doing personally OR a group event? And maybe you have an encouraging word to share in the Lord—a passage you’ve read or study you’ve done? Please share!

Much love from Nashville,

Tammy

Hi Tammy, you are so lucky that you live near Kristi so you can attend her Bible studies in person. Wish there were more workbooks from her. I’m currently reading “The Armor of God” by Priscilla Shirer and learning a great deal. God provided us with such a great gift. If only we would use it more…
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace as you trust in Him.” (Romans 15:13) Have a blessed day!

Loved that study by Priscilla, Coco. And be encouraged! Kristi has a new study out. It’s called The Running Father. The audio is already available. The video is coming soon! Just look on New Lens Biblicial studies website. It’s one of her best studies yet!

I always look forward to your posts and can count on inspiration. I am reading the book of John and just understood new meaning regarding the Pharisees treatment of Jesus. The commentary I’m reading emphasized that because Jesus was a threat to their lifestyle and control, they wanted to quickly be rid of him (which I knew). But it was interesting to me to read that because of their intense focus on their needs, God hardened their hearts and allowed them to believe what they were intent on. Don’t want to offend anyone, but I immediately thought that much of today’s turmoil seems to come from political groups who are so intent on pushing their social agendas that they have no need of God and work to exclude and diminish him. It makes me think of the challenge you were faced with regarding the publishing of your Carnton novel. I wonder if God has hardened the hearts of those who are demanding their own beliefs and values to the exclusion of others, because sometimes I think a lot of the hateful things that are done make no sense.

I apologize if this is out of line.

    Hi Tammy,
I’m excited you will be our VA ACFW keynote speaker this year. I look forward to hearing it. Wasn’t the national ACFW an amazing conference? I’m still processing all I learned by “adding layers” to my manuscript. 🙂 Do I set up a mentoring appointment after the conference directly with you or through the ACFW VA website? Thanks and God bless you for speaking. You are an inspiration.
