Novelist Retreat: 11 Heads Are Better Than 1

August 6, 2014 By Tricia Goyer

Last week I got back from a very special retreat. Every year, for a dozen years, a group of writers have gotten together to Plot, Pray, and Play.

Here is our group photo:

Pray, Plot, and Play ladies

When we get together, we spend our time talking, laughing, praying, and plotting each others’ books. Since we’ve been meeting together for so long, we know each other well. We also keep up with each other during the year through a private loop.

We are writer-sisters, and I’m so thankful for these women!

And here are a few fun shots!

Relaxing in the front room

Robin’s beautiful smile

Tammy’s serene glow

Karen and Frani always cracking up

Ice cream tacos

Dinner!

We can’t forget the view!

After the retreat we go home uplifted and refreshed. We also go home with PLOTS!

Here are some books that we’ve plotted together. Which ones have you read?

Isn’t that fun? What a blessing that authors are able to brainstorm together! 11 heads are better than one!

What a fabulous group! I think it’s key to form a core circle of writer friends. It makes the journey so much more rewarding.

Well I did dismal on the reading test — Have only read Beside Still Waters and Wilderness Target is on order. But thanks for adding title to my TBR list!!!! Somebody needs to pay me so I can read full time!

And while I’m ruminating over the concept of so many powerhouse authors all brainstorming together, I’m drooling over ice cream tacos. Seriously?!

I agree with Kav, those ice cream tacos looked great. I really want one and I had never heard or thought of them, before.

Like Kav, I have added many new titles and some new authors to my TBR pile.

I can’t wait to see which new books this retreat will birth.

From the pictures, I can tell you had a great time.

A lot of love for Jesus and talent in that group picture; and I’m thankful to get to share in it through your books. Blessings to all of you. Praying for Tamera’s dad too.

I’ve known about this wonderful retreat for many years, via Karen. Now I’ve seen the ice cream tacos I am super jealous! 😉 That’s a precious thing you all have going. What a blessing! And I recognized many of those books. Lots of blessings have flowed out from those retreats.

Loved sharing your gathering via pics – thanks, Tricia!! A wonderful group of authors and books!! Think you will have to give everyone the recipe for those taco shells (LOL)!! Do you gather in the same spot every year??

    Shared post!!

Bonnie, we had a sweet lady cater for us. I’d like the recipe, too. They were waffle cone like. I think she said she wrapped hot waffles in foil and wrapped them around a broom handle to curve them … maybe?!
