Painting the Day Away

November 3, 2025 By Angela Hunt

As you may remember, I started painting during Covid . . . and then things got busy and I sort of set my paint brushes aside. Or, to be completely accurate, I stopped going out to the caboose that serves as my painting studio. (What else are you going to do with a caboose in the front yard?)

But the other day a woman actually wanted to buy one of my older paintings, so I went out to the caboose and realized how much paint and canvas and “stuff” I had out there . . . and it seemed wasteful not to do something with it.

So I started painting again. I enjoy it because it’s not something I do well, so I have to work hard to create something presentable. And I discovered another use for AI–I tell it to create something in the style of a famous painter, and then it creates an image for me. Then I have to attempt to recreate the image, but I’m not as good as the famous painter, of course–but I have fun trying to recreate the image.

Here are a few of my recent efforts.

Mock up paper display on dirty and yellow wall in vintage style.

Those are so lovely. My favorites are the first two. You are talented! I love art but absolutely cannot do it myself.

Thank you, Amy. I realize how much I don’t know when I finish a painting, but I certain do enjoy trying to learn!
