Peeling Back the Curtain: Where I Edit

June 9, 2016 By Cara Putman

IMG_8419

Today I’m racing toward turning in the macro edits on Beyond Justice, my book that releases in April 2017. Since I’m neck deep in making the book sing, I thought I’d give you a quick look into one of the places I hide while I edit. It’s not always here. Other times it might be Panera or Starbucks. Maybe the library. But often I need to break away and find a place with fewer distractions. I hope you enjoy this look behind the pages! And don’t forget to enter the huge giveaway I’m running.

I’m celebrating summertime with the following basket of goodies:

  • Shadowed by Grace
  • Mason Jar Mayhem: co-authored with Tricia Goyer in the Guidepost Sugarcreek Mysteries series
  • Rome Amore lotion and body wash
So you thought writing was glamorous? Author @Cara_Putman pulls back the curtain. #giveaway #amediting

Since it’s summertime, it’s also time for vacations or staycations. It’s a great time to take a break from the ordinary. Anytime I travel, I always make sure to take plenty of reading material. Long plane flights or short car trips, I believe a good book is always welcome and a key to a good getaway!

These are a few of the books I’ve read recently and can recommend!

The Beautiful Pretender by Melanie Dickerson
The Ringmaster’s Wife by Kristy Cambron
Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg
Anchor in the Storm by Sarah Sundin
Sins of the Past by Henderson, Pettrey and Eason
A Spy’s Devotion by Melanie Dickerson
The Bachelor Girl’s Guide to Murder by Rachel McMillan
Books I Recommend

Here are a few of the books I’ve read recently and can highly recommend. These are good reads for a vacation or staycation.

My TBR Pile

Here are a few of the books on my TBR pile. They’ll probably find their way into a suitcase if I don’t inhale them before I leave.

The Bachelor’s Girls Guide to Murder was one of the best books I have read this year! Several of those are on my To-Read List and I’m glad to know that they are highly recommended. Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway!

    In the cave…lol.

How about a young single Pastor as a hero? A professor or teacher. A construction worker – the kind you see walking high up on the beams.

I know those aren’t the usual swoon-worthy type of heroes but I am sure you are capable of conquering the challenge.

I can so relate to you right now, Cara! I’m in need of a place to go and hide so that I can fully concentrate on getting my current manuscript in shape before I turn it in July 1. I’m contemplating a deadline getaway to a local hotel…. Preferably one near a lake. 🙂 With a spa.
