Pre-Release Excitement and a GIVEAWAY!

April 20, 2018 By Jody Hedlund

TOGETHER FOREVER the second book in my orphan train series releases on May 1, less than two weeks away!

There are two things I look forward to in the weeks before the book’s release.

The first is the single copy I receive from my editor about a month before the release. It’s my first glimpse of the book and is always accompanied by a personal card from my editor (which is super cool and thoughtful!). I love getting to hold the book for the first time.

The second thing I look forward to is the day I get my author copies, which is usually a couple of weeks before the release date. As a matter of fact, I happened to get two boxes of books this week, and it’s always such fun to open them up and see the fruition of months of hard work.

As usual, I can’t help taking pictures of the momentous occasion. My cats love to join me in the celebration. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. In reality they could probably care less about the books and are more interested in the boxes!

Because I’m trying to spread some warmth and happiness during this cold spring we’ve had, I’m GIVING AWAY an early copy of the book here on the blog today!

Fill out the Rafflecopter form below and enter for a chance to WIN a copy of the book!

So how about YOU? What’s YOUR spring been like? Has it been as cold and snowy where you live as it has been in Michigan?

I can’t wait for a real taste of spring weather! Here in NJ we’re still much colder than normal and it’s been rainy and raw most days. Although we haven’t had snow for a couple weeks now, it lasted much longer than usual. So excited to read your new book, as I really enjoyed the first book in this series!

It’s been cold, rainy, and snowy in Pennsylvania this spring. We had 2 days where it was sunny and in the 80’s though.

I think the entire country has been teased by a few days of warm here and there only to have the temps plunge back down. I went to Florida a couple of weeks ago, but their weather was up and down too. It’s only 48 degrees right now in Virginia and supposed to be cool the next few days, but I’m thankful we aren’t experiencing any snow like our northern neighbors. What an unusual winter this has been!

Congratulations on the publication and soon release of “TOGETHER FOREVER”. I can’t wait for the opportunity to read it.

My spring has been like a yoyo. The temperatures and sun come and go like the up and down of the yoyo. We have had some beautiful days with temperatures going into the 70’s. Even was able to take our first short trike ride. Then other days are in the 30-40’s with dreary skies along with winds that make you think it’s winter instead of summer.

The town I live is may be small (population of less than 3000) but it’s also the Music Capital of the World. Last night was the first concert at the Folk Center and today starts the Folk Festival. Thankfully the sun is shining but we will have mild temperatures of 50-60″s. Surely not going to complain because thankfully for this outdoor event it’s not suppose to rain.

Have a wonderful Friday followed by a fantastic weekend!

We have not had a typical spring here in central Indiana either – everything from snow, sleet, hail, rain, and temps from the 20’s to high 70’s. My tulips and daffodils are persistent, though. You have very pretty cats! I am looking forward to your next orphan train book, the first one was wonderful!

I am from the Netherlands and no snow here. Instead we have 25+ degrees celsius, which is unusual for April. But it is no too bad. Flowers are in full bloom and the sun is shining. 2018 hasn’t been all too kind, so the weather does cheer up a bit. 🙂

Winter, in Missouri, is still deciding whether it wants to leave or after seeing a few warm days, deciding to hang out a bit longer. Trees and flowers are trying to bud and frost keeps sneaking in to knock them back. I hope we have a Spring; not go straight to Summer. 😉

  38. Jen says

Winter in Colorado has not been as cold as it has been in Michigan. Michigan winters are so beautiful as I recall from childhood but Colorado winters are less severe. I love your Michigan stories!

Spring has already sprung (which was breathtaking) and now we’re slowly transitioning to the “Summer” season…in fact, I even went swimming in our outdoor pool last week. I’m from Southern Ohio. We have had glimpses of Spring here from time to time. Only occasionally between rain and snow. The snow doesn’t accumulate but the temperatures have been cold. Some days will be in the 30s or 40s. Other days in the 70s. Seems we get 3 cold days after one warm day. I haven’t planted any flowers yet.
    Thanks for your generous giveaway.

Winter in Houston, Texas, ended about two months ago. We had a few flakes of snow, rain, and lots of barren-looking trees and brown yards. However, since sometime in February we’ve been green, blooming, and pleasantly warm with occasional cool snaps. God’s glory is quite evident here in nature right now!

I’m sure it hasn’t been as snowy in this part of Virginia as it has been in Michigan, but we have had quite the winter/spring. We had some exceptionally cold days in early January and then it warmed up a bit. The spring temps have been all over the place with some 80 degree weather followed by below freezing, sometimes with 30-40 degree fluctuations within a day or less. Most of the snow we got here in my area melted off the roads or was beaten off by traffic in only a day or two, even when it was 4 to 8 inches. grandaddya[at]comcast[dot]net

We’ve had some really cold days this month around a couple of days in the high 80’s and some insane wind. We are supposed to get rain tonight and tomorrow, which will be very welcome since we had a dry winter. It’s been a strange spring so far. Congratulations on your new book. I’m still having to wear a jacket well into the afternoon most days, and occasionally need to layer long sleeves underneath.
