Our oldest daughter graduated from college this month!
How it started….

How it’s going….

Our family spent the weekend in California celebrating her graduation ceremonies. Despite all the Covid craziness that struck during the spring of her freshman year, she had a FABULOUS college experience. She loved going to school in southern California. She joined a sorority and lived in the sorority house her junior and senior year. She became president of her Pre-health-professions club. She volunteered lots. She worked very hard at her academics, earning straight A’s! She graduated summa cum laude with a pre-med degree and hopes to become a doctor one day.
This summer she’ll be traveling to Europe with our family for two weeks. (We leave tomorrow!) Then she’ll spend six weeks in Memphis as an intern with an orthopedic medicine program. Then back to San Diego to work for two years while she studies for the MCAT, takes the MCAT, applies to schools, etc.
We’re so very proud of our girl!

Have you or your family/friends celebrated a milestone moment recently?

Congratulations! I well remember this milestone moment in my life. A recent milestone is moving from Alabama to Austin to be near children and grandchild. One grandchild her husband and new baby live in Fort Worth. I feel like you and I are neighbors!
BTW, love your books.
Thanks so much for reading my books, Harriet! We are indeed neighbors. 🙂 I hope your move to Austin is a wonderful new beginning for you.

Thank you, Caryl!
I remember my daughters’ graduations, and the graduations of grandkids. So much excitement. Huge congrats to your daughter. What a challenge she has ahead as she works to become a physician. But no wonder you are bursting your buttons. Blessings to you all.
Thank you, Robin! Yes, those graduations stick out as special in our memories, don’t they? They give us a reason to pause, remember & celebrate.

Oh, wow, Jennifer! An empty nest! Congrats to her and YOU.
Congratulations!! I know you’re super proud of your daughter – – sounds like she’s an amazing young lady! 🙂
My granddaughter just finished her year of kindergarten, and I keep thinking that it seems like not long ago her mommy (my Becca) was in kindergarten! 🙂 The years go too quickly.
Safe travels and enjoy being with your family on such a wonderful trip!
Aww! Kindergarten graduation! So sweet. And yes, the years go too, too quickly.
Congratulations to your daughter! I wish her the best in all she does.
My oldest granddaughter graduated with a 4 year degree in Microbiology. She will spend the next year in an internship at a hospital. She will then be a Licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist. We are so proud of her.
That’s amazing! Congratulations to her. It sounds like she and my daughter are both fascinated with the medical field. 🙂
My nephew graduated from Southern Methodist Law School in Dallas, Texas.
An amazing accomplishment! Congrats to him!
So proud of this amazing young woman!!!
Congratulations to your daughter and you, Becky, for bravely letting her spread her wings! My oldest daughter is graduating college this year too. She had a job and apartment lined up and will be teaching her first love, English, to HIGH SCHOOLERS!!! We are so proud of her and can’t believe how time has flown. Off into the great big world, she goes!
I’m relating with you wholeheartedly, Gena, seeing as how we both have oldest daughters graduating from college. Congrats to your daughter! How fabulous that she’ll be teaching high school English. 🙂
