Proud Mom Moment!

May 26, 2023 By Becky Wade

Our oldest daughter graduated from college this month!

How it started….

Baby
She was born in December of 2000. A Y2K baby! (Which makes it easy to remember how old she is.)
Elementary School
Middle School
High School
In August of 2019, we moved her into her dorm room for her freshman year at San Diego State University.

How it’s going….

Our family spent the weekend in California celebrating her graduation ceremonies. Despite all the Covid craziness that struck during the spring of her freshman year, she had a FABULOUS college experience. She loved going to school in southern California. She joined a sorority and lived in the sorority house her junior and senior year. She became president of her Pre-health-professions club. She volunteered lots. She worked very hard at her academics, earning straight A’s! She graduated summa cum laude with a pre-med degree and hopes to become a doctor one day.

This summer she’ll be traveling to Europe with our family for two weeks. (We leave tomorrow!) Then she’ll spend six weeks in Memphis as an intern with an orthopedic medicine program. Then back to San Diego to work for two years while she studies for the MCAT, takes the MCAT, applies to schools, etc.

We’re so very proud of our girl!

Have you or your family/friends celebrated a milestone moment recently?

Congratulations!! I know you’re super proud of your daughter – – sounds like she’s an amazing young lady! 🙂

My granddaughter just finished her year of kindergarten, and I keep thinking that it seems like not long ago her mommy (my Becca) was in kindergarten! 🙂 The years go too quickly.

Safe travels and enjoy being with your family on such a wonderful trip!
