Happy Tuesday all!
It’s time to play, “What are the last four items you’ve ordered on Amazon—and would you recommend them?”
Disclaimer: If you’ve recently ordered something that’s either really personal or simply not appropriate to share publicly, then you REALLY HAVE to share it! It’s the game, after all! ; )
Okay, I’ll go first. And I’ll admit up front that there’s a strikingly similar pattern to my recent orders. LOL #NewGrandmother
I was shopping for teething toys for Leo when I saw that cute little musical cow, which is fabulous. Leo loves the little penguin teether, and it’s really a clever design (how it slips over the infant’s hand). He hasn’t used the elephant teether much yet, but I have a feeling that will be more appealing once he actually starts teething.
The musical cow is SUPER cute and really holds his attention. He loves pressing the buttons and just chatters back in response. So I would highly recommend that one, too. And for reference, Leo is 5 months old now.
The last item included in the screenshot above is something I needed in order to “help” a friend celebrate her 60th birthday. Because no way could I blow up 60 duck balloons on my own!
That little balloon pump is fabulous! Now I’m wondering how I ever lived without it. I’ve already used it twice because our daughter’s birthday was Saturday so, of course, I needed to take her 36 bday balloons when we took her to breakfast. I think this little balloon pump is going to get a lot of use!
But back to the duck balloons and helping my dear friend celebrate her 60th…
Sunday morning, Joe and I visited Kim’s car (while she and her husband were at church). The security guard saw us but I did some fast explaining, and he was quickly all in!
The duck balloons (also highly recommend) make more sense when you know that Joe & I and Kim & Jerry have been hiding an angry rubber duck back-and-forth in each other’s houses since 2019.
Here’s the duck in our house the last time they came to see us. After they left, I was sitting on the sofa a day later, looked up, and there he was in our cabinet! She’d slipped it in there without me seeing.
Here he is closer up. And there’s a story behind his angry face too…
A long while back, Kim had been “kindly encouraging” Jerry to do something (as wives often do with their husbands), and Jerry commented that it was like “being pecked to death by a duck’s bill.” LOL So, another quick Amazon order and voila…a duck (made angry with the help of a Sharpie) stealthily appeared in Kim’s kitchen cabinet one Sunday night during community group.
Anyway, I digress…
Now it’s your turn, if you dare! What are the last 4 things (or even 1) in your order cart from Amazon—and would you recommend them/it?
Hugs from my corner of Nashville,
Tammy
P.S. If you happen to be looking for tiny little ducks to hide in your friend’s house while she’s away—again, helping her celebrate her 60th—these tiny squeaking ducks are fabulous! Just sayin’!

My list is not too exciting. It includes two bed pillows (Utopia Bedding), highly recommend! A cat water fountain dish because my little miss wont drink unless it comes out of a faucet. She loves it! And the fourth item is cat food. Lol, I live an exciting life.
Tamera Alexander says
Thank you for that pillow recommendation, because I am in the market for a new pillow! I’ve been looking for weeks and haven’t found one that I really like. So I’m going to check out your Utopia suggestion. Love the cat food and exciting life comment too. Appreciate you sharing!
Kymberli says
These are the third and fourth Utopia Bedding pillows I have gotten for myself. My personal preference for sleeping.
Deborah Raney says
That little Leo is beyond adorable! So fun to see him grow!
My last four items are:
• A new light for my “new” office (I’m switching my office to a different room and painting and doing some other updates.)
• Cover Girl Outlast lipstick/gloss. It’s the long-lasting lip color I’ve been wearing for probably 20 years now, and if they ever stop making it, I don’t know WHAT I’ll do! Put it on once in the morning and it truly lasts all day long! Highly recommend.
• 2 gift cards for our two middle kids who share May birthdays with their mama.
Tamera Alexander says
LOVE that you’re moving into your “new” office! And I’m off to look up that lipstick (again) and reorder it. Mine ran out forever ago. You put me onto this years back—thank you! I can already tell this blog post is going to cost me some money! LOL
Joy says
It’s so funny that you hide a duck in each other’s houses. I’ve been doing something similar with a group of friends for probably 5 years or so now. And it all started with 50 mini rubber ducks that one friend hid in another friend’s house. I’m not even sure she’s found all of them – but we continually rehide them. HA! We’ve branched out – one friend now gets little pink pigs, another gets little rubber bananas, another unicorns, and another sea creatures. It’s so much fun!
Let’s see – two of my four items on Amazon are fun (at least for me): 2 of them are Lego Minifigures. I use them on my bookstagram account for #MinifigureMonday where I match the minifigure to a book. The third is a Conair T-shirt hair turban. I highly recommend them – they dry your hair without making it frizzy. And the fourth isn’t fun, but a necessity for me since my iron is continually low – Ancestral Supplements Grass Fed Beef Liver Capsules. The most natural way to get a little boost of iron in my diet. (and no, they don’t taste gross LOL)
Tamera Alexander says
Joy, knowing you do that too brings such joy to me! LOL It was such fun hiding those tiny ducks everywhere. I would get so tickled imagining her finding them. LOL
Love your purchases and I’m trying that Conair T-shirt hair turban. Cool! Thanks for the iron tip, too! I have dealt with that throughout my life from time to time, so will keep that on my list just in case.
Angie says
What fun! I’ll play:
Last four items from Amazon:
1. A copy of my writing book, WRITING LESSONS FROM THE FRONT, so I can use it as a reference as I write!
2. Heavy duty canvas thread and needles (to repair the leather chair cushion my puppy chewed)
3. A battery-operated fan for my chicken coop (it’s hot down here) and
4. An Apple Watch for my husband–anniversary gift. :-). Now, let’s see if he’ll actually WEAR it!
Tamera Alexander says
LOL, Angie, love all of those! Such insight into each of us from what we’ve ordered! Hope those chickens are staying nice and cool! I want to visit you some day just to see your place and your chickens! ; )
Harriet Glenn says
Having recently moved from Alabama to Texas, we’ve ordered a lot from Amazon to get us going again. Most recently we’ve gotten metal storage shelving, kitchen shelving, cat toys and a new cat tower for the rulers of our new roost. Love your pictures of Leo. We have our first great grand baby, nine month old Tatum. The grands are the best thing we ever “ordered,” but not from Amazon!
Tamera Alexander says
LOL, definitely ordered but not from Amazon, Harriet. Love that. Thanks for sharing and praying you guys are settled and feeling at home soon. Moving is NOT for the faint of heart. Blessings.
Barbara Harper says
Our former youth pastor and his wife had bride and groom duckies on the dashboard of their car. Then when they were expecting their first child, the announcement on Facebook had a photo with the bride and groom and a baby ducky. So cute!
My husband and sons used to hide a big plastic roach around the house for each other to find. They never said anything about it–whoever found it would just rehide it.
My last purchases from Amazon were all for my 9-year-old grandson who just had a birthday last month: a Peter Rabbit book, shirts, a book of jokes for kids, and Minecraft Uno.
I’ve bought some Kindle books since then as well.
Tamera Alexander says
LOL, Barbara, on that roach. So funny. That’s what we would do as well. Don’t say a thing. Just rehide it and keep the fun going. Thanks for sharing your recent purchases. Ours definitely share a common theme. 🙂
Vickie says
Swim goggles for my grandson (he lives 4 hours away and Amazon delivers to him😊)
GIR brand silicone spoon and spoonula (the best!)
10 books to preview for church book club (summer reading)
and hair color (necessity of life!)
By the way, I love your blog and your fellow authors❤️
Tamera Alexander says
Don’t you LOVE that you can just send things with the click of a button to loved ones, Vickie. Hope your grandson loves those goggles, and THANKS for the recommendation of the GIR silicone spoon and spoonula. I adore kitchen toys! My fav. ; ) Thanks for sharing and for the kind words.
Amy M. says
My last four were all for friends birthday gifts:
* Initial adjustable ring (as recommended by Rambling Redhead Jenn Todryk)
* “Where are the Children Now?” Mary Higgins Clark book
* Scotland loose tea in a cute tin
* Scotland teabag holder w/thistle in shape of a teapot
Tamera Alexander says
I love Jenn, Amy. She’s hysterical and also has great ideas. NICE gifts for your friends! Well done. : )
D'Ann Mateer says
I’m so boring! A water filter for my refrigerator, a bottle of liquid stevia, a bag of dog food. My fourth is a little better–I ordered my friend Mary’s book, Most Misunderstood Women of the Bible, for my husband’s assistant for her birthday.
Tamera Alexander says
LOL, D’Ann. Not at all! And your dogs definitely don’t think so! ; ) LOVE the cover of Mary’s book. Thanks for that recommendation, friend. Hugs!
Becky Wade says
This game is super fun!
*A set of 4 espresso cups I ordered
*Two graduation cards I ordered for my niece and nephew who are high school seniors
*Insoles for my son’s shoes my husband ordered
*A Nespresso machine my husband ordered for me for Mother’s Day (hence my need to place an order for espresso cups a day later)
Tamera Alexander says
Oh, I love espresso cups, Becky! And you got a Nespresso machine?! Yay for you! Kurt & Kellie got one when they married in 2020, and they both say it’s the best gift. They ADORE espresso! And I enjoy going over to their house to keep Leo. It’s a win-win. Leo AND espresso. ENJOY, friend! : )
Deena Adams says
I’m in charge of our church ladies retreat bracelet-making activity, so I ordered bracelet beads and a pack of mini tweezers to pick up the beads. I ordered silicone earring backs because I keep having to take from one pair of earrings to use on another. Lastly, I ordered a paperback of The Choices She Made by Felicia Ferguson because my summer book club is going to read it. The items haven’t been delivered yet so I can’t say if I recommend them or not.
I love your fun angry duck game with your friends. That’s priceless, as is your photo with your precious grandson.
Tamera Alexander says
Thanks for sharing today, Deena, and I LOVE that you ladies have a bracelet-making ministry. Wonderful. Silicone earring backs…very practical and needed. I hope y’all enjoy that book. I’ve not read that one. Thanks for your kind words and much love on this Tuesday afternoon.
Lori Cole says
* 4 bags of No Salt Added original potato chips. I ordered them for my mom to give to my grandma (who can’t have salt, but loves chips).
* 12-pack of Black Cherry Mountain Dew Kickstart… my fav drink!
* 3-pack of child-size scissors with plastic sheaths… to put in our vehicles for ease of cutting out fast food coupons, since they are such a booger to tear out! 😀
* Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong toilet paper (32 mega rolls)… one of my Subscribe & Save items. I’m so thankful I was doing this even before Covid. We’d JUST received our shipment right before the craziness with toilet paper shortage, so we were prepared! 😀
Tamera Alexander says
Okay, what?? Black Cherry Mtn Dew Kickstart?? LOL Never heard of it but definitely checking it out. I love Mtn Dew. Love that you’re caring for your grandma so sweetly, and YES, I love those Subscribe & Save items too. So convenient. Perhaps dangerously so! LOL Hugs!
Robin Lee Hatcher says
This is a fun game.
* A JISULIFe Portable Neck Fan, to cool me down as the temps are going up (something I plan to take with me to Israel in the fall when the weather is still hot). Yes, I would recommend. I am quite impressed by how well it works.
* Acrylic Bathroom Cup Dispenser (because my old one was super old and super ugly). It’s pretty and inexpensive.
* A Travelambo Women’s Bifold Wallet RFID Blocking. I needed a new wallet and this one holds lots of cards but is still very thin. I like it.
* Melsbrinna Passport Holder (RFID Blocking). Yes, thinking ahead to Israel again, and I got the aqua green color so it’s pretty.
Tamera Alexander says
Nice on the fan. I’ll have to check that out too. Or just grab yours from your neck as I race up Masada!! (As if I could race up that incline, LOLOL!) Will check out that wallet too. Thanks! Great on the passport holder too. I have one of those but mine is plain and black. Not pretty. I’ll just look over at yours and admire it from afar. ; )
Have I mentioned I’m so excited that we get to travel the Land together? So grateful to be going to Israel again. Still have to pinch myself.
Kelly Goshorn says
Love seeing pics of little Leo. He’s adorable! The last four items I purchased were a top-entry cat litter box, a cat/dog water dispenser fountain, a cat scratching post, and a set of gardening tools all for my daughter’s birthday. Now what you may not see is the connection to your post because the first three items are for my “grandkitty” as my daughter has taken to calling her kitten, Pumpernickel. LOL!
Tamera Alexander says
Thanks for letting me share about Leo without slapping me for oversharing—AND for your kind words, Kelly! And LOL, oh I love that! Both the “grandkitty” and her name. Priceless! ; )
Sylvia M. says
1) A pound of Tetley loose leaf tea. I was hoping it would taste better than the Tetley tea bags. It’s pretty much the same. I’m still experimenting with the right measurements for my teapot.
2) A set of 3 Utopia cast iron skillets for a bridal shower gift. I would have gone with a different brand, but the bride had that on her gift registry.
3) Gillette Satin Care Ultra Sensitive shave gel (pack of 2)
4) Ladies’ feminine products from Always.
Tamera Alexander says
You’re a brave woman, Sylvia! I go through seasons where I drink tea and then don’t much at all. But I’ve never experimented with loose tea. So yay you. Great on the other purchases too. And kudos for the mention of feminine products. Hey, we’re keeping it real, right? : )
Stacey Cochran says
This is so fun! I have enjoyed reading the comments!
The last 4 items I purchased was a set of hearing amplifiers for my grandmother (she liked it but it was too big for her ear), a welding machine for my husband (he loves it!), a swing set for my daughter and niece to use at my parent’s house (they love it!), and a phone case for myself that I had to replace my old one (this is the second one that I have gotten and I love it!)
Tamera Alexander says
Did you get TV Ears, Stacey? Just curious. If you haven’t tried those, they’re great. My dad loved them and I even used them in a set up where the treadmill was so loud compared to the volume of the TV. But put those on and BAM, clear as a bell.
A welding machine! Interesting and get on the hubby loving it. Yay on the swing set and the phone case too. Amazon can be dangerous can’t it? Just WAY too easy to purchase things. 🙂
Patti Jo Moore says
Oh Tammy! Little Leo is absolutely precious!! I knew you would LOVE being a grandmother!! Best blessing ever! 🙂
Amazon and I are very close, LOL! 😉
If I go a few days without ordering, I fully expect the company to contact me to see what’s going on. Ha!!
My last 4 ordered items: Whiskas Chicken dinner pouches (cat food)
Cat’s Pride cat litter
Temptations Tuna Treats (for cats)
Fancy Feast cat food (box of 30 cans)
Anyone who knows me would not be surprised to see my orders! 😉
Thanks for sharing such a FUN post today, and enjoy that sweet baby!
Robin Lee Hatcher says
Patti Jo, I am laughing over your orders. All for the cats. Nothing for Patti Jo. LOL! Yes, we are not surprised. And I, too, think Amazon would contact me if I went too many days without an order of one kind or another.
Tamera Alexander says
LOL, Patti Jo, on you and Amazon being very close. And a MAJOR M-E-O-W on your latest purchases, friend. ; ) Your cats landed in tall cotton when they became yours, my friend.
Thanks for the sweet comments about Leo. We are just having such fun with him. Grandparenting is the best!
SHERRY PIKE says
I never thought I would become a frequent user of Amazon, but that’s the way life goes. I hate shopping so I guess it works. My latest purchase was a graduation Amazon gift card, the kind you can print at home and then send in a card. I’m going to be needing at least two more of those this month. Before that was disposable doggy diapers. Those have been a lifesaver for me! I was so tired of cleaning up puddles from our 18 year old Silky Terrier. Every time I order a package I’m sure it will be the last one, but he keeps plugging along. I also ordered mother’s day cards. They were flower pop-up cards, fun and the mom’s loved them. I’ve got a few things saved in my cart ready for my next order. I try to keep them spaced out a bit….
Tamera Alexander says
Amen to the convenience of it, Sherry. And I feel the same way about shopping. I bet your little Silky is precious. I had a Silky a few years back—Jack—and still love him so much and miss him.
I’ve never ordered cards from Amazon. Will have to try that out! Bless you for sharing, friend!
Betty Strohecker says
Cute pictures!
– a box of Thank You notes
– toothpaste
– medicine
– sea salt chocolate caramels
Tamera Alexander says
All necessary items, Betty. Especially the last one! LOL ; ) Sea Salt Chocolate Caramels. YUM! Hugs to you, friend, and thanks for sharing.
Edward Arrington says
Until reading your blog, I never knew there was an Arrington, TN. I have visited Arrington, VA – actually have a picture of the post office somewhere, which is about all there is. LOL! But I looked to see where Arrington Vineyards was located and discovered it’s in Arrington, TN.
My last four Amazon purchases: a black cartridge and color cartridges for my HP printer, Cetaphil gentle cleansing bars, replacement paper for a blood pressure monitor printer, and filters for our furnace. As someone else commented, I live an exciting life. I recommend Amazon for these products and many more.
Tamera Alexander says
We learn something new every day, don’t we, Edward? And yes, to living an exciting life. Ditto that! I remember one of my mentors told me years ago that I would need to find happiness in routine or I would never find it. Such true words. Blessings on your day.
Lisa Harness says
Well, Blue Lotus Chai, Roobios, Strong Earth Zinc gummies, 56 Oz glass water bottle & Simple Wonders Apple Cider Vinegar gummies.
I do recommend these items, but they’re not too exciting.
Tamera Alexander says
Well, they sounded fun to me, Lisa, and I did not know what one of them was. Roobios? Made note! And the apple cider vinegar gummies. Will check those out too! Thanks so much for sharing.
Melissa says
My last four Amazon purchases were the book Beholding and Becoming by Ruth Chou Simons cuz I’ve been wanting to read it, a new digital bathroom scale because A) we needed a new one and B) I need to weigh some books for my number 3 purchase: a new bookshelf for my hubby and I’s bedroom and I don’t want to overload the shelves which with my book collection would be so very easy, and a Thor Funko for my sons upcoming birthday.
Tamera Alexander says
OK, Melissa, you may get the award for the comment that most made me laugh. A scale in order to weigh books so they don’t overload a bookshelf! So smart, and yet it made me giggle. Thanks so much for the smiles and for sharing today. Go forth and weigh, my friend!

Kurdene Bluetooth earbuds- This is the second set I’ve bought for myself, and I bought a pair for my brother. I love them for listening to audiobooks! They have the best fit.
