As I type this, copies of my new book, The Secret of Pembrooke Park, are finding their way onto bookstore shelves and into readers’ hands, and the e-book becomes available for Kindle on this very day, 11/25!
Release time means lots of publicity and promotion to get the word out, and one of the most fun kinds of promotion is offering a giveaway. I’ve teamed up with two other author-friends (Sarah Ladd and Carrie Turansky) who write books set in England for an British-themed giveaway.
Enter today to win three novels all set in England, as well as a teacup, tea, chocolate, and DVD of Pride and Prejudice. The winner will be announced on December 1. (Open to US residents only—sorry guys!). To enter, follow this link: http://is.gd/lcvILW.
It’s my busiest time of year–getting ready for Thanksgiving (thankfully my brother’s wife is hosting), a book launch party on 12/1, working on my next book due to my first reader in December, and several upcoming book signings–and I’ve barely even thought about Christmas! What’s keeping you busy these days?

Just getting ready for the Holiday. Today I’m fixing zucchini bread the way my daughter and her family like it. Then tomorrow I’ll make pecan pie. My daughter is bringing the turkey.
As for my schedule, I traded in my job almost 6 years ago for retirement. My church keeps me busy and infact I’m almost as busy as I was when I worked outside of the home.
As for shopping , I almost have that done. Just 2 gifts left to get and then the dreaded gift wrapping process. My first week of December is crammed packed full with activities.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

Wow–you are way ahead of me, Shirley. Good for you! I cheated and bought a pecan pie at Costco today. I’m sure yours will be better! Have a wonderful time with your daughter’s family.

I’ve been making pies from scratch most of my married life. When I married in 69 they didn’t have frozen pie crust that I can remember. It’s an art to mix up a pie crust. I’ve had lots of experience.
But if you bought a pecan pie already made than you have more time to do other things.
Happy Thanksgiving

Just prepping for the holiday. Going to pick up a large fresh roaster chicken from the farm, and prepping pies.

I’m a little late in the day commenting here, though I did read this post first thing this morning! (I have a toddler, and I’m always up EARLY!) We were getting ready to travel here in the Northeast for Thanksgiving, but we are supposed to be hammered with a colossal snowstorm tomorrow… I’m not even sure we will be able to dig out on Thursday to be able to travel. In all honesty, I was kind of dreading traveling with my eighteen-month-old. Now way was he going to sleep in a strange place anyway!
So I bought a small turkey breast for the three of us, and I’m prepared to throw together a decent meal. It might not win awards, but it’ll do.
I for one am so excited about your new book! You’re always at the top of my list when I describe my favorite authors! Your work is amazing and I’m sure your family is all very proud, not to mention thankful, of you and for you this holiday!

Spending some family time with my kids and grand daughter. Gonna make some yummy green bean casserole and my mom’s recipe for baked beans to take over to my son’s girlfriend’s parents for Thanksgiving. Then Saturday we are having a family picture taken. I am so excited about going home for a visit for Christmas! I am hoping that my daughter and her husband go too so my mom, dad and grandma can see my grand daughter who is three now!
Would so enjoy reading your book. I love teacups!

Hello Julie. congrats on your new release day for your book. I would love to win it. Courtney, hope the snow doesn’t get too bad for you to have to stay home. But worry about people traveling when there’s snow building up. And, such bad snows this winter in the upper states. Just stay safe. Better staying home than be stranded on the side of the road. Julie I was hoping to get my gifts and have them wrapped before now, but as my kids say, I procrastinate too much. Keep thinking I will do better but don’t. My kids and grands live in the vicinity and we all go to one of the kid’s homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So, I don’t have to fix anything. With the four kids and grandkids there is always a lot of food.Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving. GOD bless you.
