“A great liking for sweet tasting foods.”
That’s the definition for “sweet tooth.” And I definitely have a sweet tooth! Do you?
This past Sunday, I spoke to the fabulous women at Brentwood Church of Christ here in Nashville on the topic of Writing Real History, and they had the most adorable—and that doesn’t even begin to describe them—cookies! See for yourself…
Aren’t these cookies beautiful?!!
Look at the details, too! And they were every bit as delicious as they were lovely! Thank you to Emily at A Spoonful of Sugar for providing these delicious and oh-so-creative cookies for the event!
While I ate (and thoroughly enjoyed) one (or perhaps two, ahem…) of these pretty little gems, I’m usually Keto, meaning I live a low carb gluten free lifestyle. But that doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice sweets. No way! Life is way too short for that! I simply use an alternative natural sweetener such as Swerve to sweeten my baked goods.
Last week, I made this delicious Cappuccino Mousse Cake from Annissa on her blog Simply So Healthy that she hosts with her daughter. The flavors, the texture of this mousse cake…simply perfection!
A piece of this with a cup of coffee in the morning. Or afternoon. Or evening. Oh my goodness. So good.
I’ve got one more recipe to share with you today!
It’s for Keto Granola Clusters from Carolyn at All Day I Dream About Food.
Don’t be fooled by those browner edges, thinking they’re overdone and “toss worthy.” Nothing could be further from the truth. They are DELICIOUS!
This is officially an Alexander family favorite! So easy. So scrumptious!
Finally, for all you coffee drinkers out there…a question: Are you frothing? If you’re not, YOU NEED TO! Frothing that heavy cream (or half and half) in your coffee makes all the difference!
Frothing really does take coffee to a new level! I use this little frother from Amazon, and it’s a workhorse!
Okay, are you hungry yet? : )
Now it’s your time to share!
Do you have a sweet tooth like me? What’s the latest dish you’ve made to satisfy your “great liking of sweet tasting foods?” : )
Every blessing on this Tuesday—and Happy First Day of October! (It’s still HOT here in Nashville where we’re pining for fall!)

It’s been a while since I posted a pic of the pups! Bailey just turned one year old, and Murphy, bless him, is three. They’re “half” brother/sister (same mom, different dad), and Bailey all but wears Murph out, can you tell? Australian Terriers are adorable, but they have tons of energy and can be stubborn little cusses! Still, so lovable.

What delicious looking treats!
We have had hot until this morning when we woke up to cool and rainy weather.
It seems to be just a hint of fall to come. My neighbor has a tree with some yellow
So maybe fall will be here sooner rather than later.

Those cookies are gorgeous! As a sugar cookie baker myself, always looking for new designs, I am impressed. Such an honor for you.
My latest sweet treat was a birthday cake my sister bought for me. It is a cake my mother always bought for special occasions that originated at Thalhimers, a long closed department store – called a six layer cake. It was a rectangular yellow cake, cream frosting between each layer and coated in chocolate fudge frosting. When Thalhimers went out of business, a local grocery store bought the rights to this recipe. That grocery store went out of business about ten years ago. Then last year my sister discovered this cake in the bakery department of Krogers. It is now five layers and called a bar cake. She brought it last year for my birthday, then at Christmas, and almost every time she comes to visit. Not only is it a delicious cake, but it recreates so many memories.

I can’t make pretty cookies like that. But I have to admit I’ve been enjoying “fall” Oreos with orange filling! I’m all about celebrating Fall! But maybe I’ll try your cappucino mousse cake. It looks scrumptious!
