Today is a bittersweet day for me, as I’m saying good-bye here on Inspired by Life and Fiction. I’ve been a part of the blog for many years, contributing twice a month, sharing the joys and difficulties of the writing and reading life with all of you.
But after adding some new writing endeavors to my schedule this year, I realized my plate had become too full and that I needed to examine everything piling up and attempt to take a few things off. So after much thought, I’ve decided I need to let my blogging here go.
It was a hard decision since I truly have loved blogging. The blog world has always provided an outlet for me to express ideas, interact, and share news about my books.
However, the nature of blogging has also changed over recent years as other social medias have grown in importance. Nowadays, I find that I can do almost everything right in my Facebook Group in a more personal and immediate way. So if you haven’t yet joined my Reader Room, I invite you to come over and interact with me there! https://www.facebook.com/groups/jodyhedlundsreaderroom
You may be wondering who will take over my first and third Friday slots here on the blog. Well, I’m happy to report that the lovely Robin Lee Hatcher is coming back from her hiatus and will be blogging regularly again during those times. So I’m sure you won’t miss me one little bit!
Farewell, my friends. It’s been a joy to be on this journey with you here. And I look forward to connecting with you in new places!

You will definitely be missed, Jody! But I understand how hectic schedules can be. I will be “stalking” you (lol) through other avenues so that I don’t miss any new releases! 😁

Sorry to see you go. I wish authors would not rely on Facebook – I left Facebook long ago and have no intention of ever going back. Cutting Facebook out of my life was so freeing! I much prefer this method of getting updates.

I’m not on FB either, so this is disappointing. But I do, understand needing to let go of something when busyness crowds in. Still good news that you’re focusing on new writing endeavors, though.

I’m with you; I tried Facebook briefly about 10 years ago and was appalled at some of the negative, self-service, disturbing things I read by family and friends I thought I knew. Closed my account and am never going back. Sure, there’s obviously lots of good stuff. But I was so glad to get good blogs through email. I wonder why someone posting on Facebook couldn’t also post the same thing via an email blog?

You will be missed, Jody! But I so admire and appreciate all you do for the writing world. (And I need to muster some of your self-discipline and organizational skills!) God bless you as He continues to use your words to change the world!

Well, here goes another “friend” out of my only connection (email), since I don’t do any of those FB or tweets or whatever else there is. I wish you the best, and may the Lord continue to bless you.
Welcome, Robin!

You’ll be missed, sweet Jody!
I don’t comment often, but do read each author’s posts, and have always enjoyed what you’ve posted. In fact, a while back I was amazed when I read what all you were tackling in your life (writing, a wedding, etc.etc.etc.) – – Whew!! So it’s understandable that something had to be let go.
I still remember meeting you at an ACFW conference (maybe St. Louis?) some years back, and having my picture made with you and Karen W. – – y’all were both so sweet to me! 🙂
Blessings in all you do! Hugs, Patti Jo
