Shiloh from Lori Benton—a great read!

October 5, 2021 By Tamera Alexander

Today is the day for Lori Benton’s highly-anticipated release of Shiloh! And as if the story on the pages isn’t lovely enough, just look at this cover…

This cover just draws me in. Does it you? Yes, I love “scene” covers on novels that depict the setting, but I also love the simplicity and beauty of this one. It’s eye-catching.

Tyndale was kind enough to give me a sneak peek of Shiloh, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting, the characters, the love story…so good.

And since you know how I love reading opening lines, here’s Lori’s from Shiloh:

The crevice in the earth, widened by pick and shovel, permitted a man of average size to hunker comfortably within.

This novel would be a great choice for your book club as the topics (family, friendship, life struggles) lend themselves to rich discussion and sharing. Just look at a sample of the gorgeous book club kit that includes a note from Lori, discussion questions, recipes, and more…

So tell me…

Have you read a Lori Benton book before?

And what are you currently reading? Please share! Fiction or non-fiction, doesn’t matter.

Me? I’m reading two non-fictions right now…

Notice a theme in my reading? : ) Talk about encouraging my heart and turning it more toward Home (thanks be to God!). No matter what you’re reading, if you only have time to read one book today, make it His!

Love from my corner of TN,

Tammy

I love Lori’s books. I just finished A Picture of Hope by Liz Tolsma. I’m also reading A Devotional Journey through Proverbs. Have a blessed day.

LOL, Helena. Oh how I understand your ever-growing TBR stack! I have one too. Just not enough time to read, is there? Thanks for reading and taking these journeys with me, friend.

I love Lori Benton’s books and ordered Shiloh today on Audible. Can’t wait to start it!

I am currently reading The Hope of Azure Springs by Rachel Fordham and listening to The Contest by K.E. Ganshert.

I’ve not read any of Lori’s books, but I trust any author you recommend. Currently I’m reading Deadly Intentions by Lisa Harris.

I’ve only read one of Lori’s books and it was years ago.
I’m currently reading ‘Between the Wild Branches’ by Connilyn Cossette and loving it. I wasn’t a fan of Biblical fiction until I started reading her books and she has me. Hook. Line. Sinker. Greeting you back from my corner (Rutherford County) of TN 🙂

I haven’t read Lori Benton yet but oh my yes, this is a gorgeous cover! Very intriguing, especially with the one-word title.
Lately I’ve been reading a non-fiction book by Watchman Nee called “The Spiritual Man.” An incredible read. Highly recommended!

Yes! I have read several Lori Benton novels, beginning with Burning Sky and the next one, whose title escapes me at the moment. Last year I read Many Sparrows. Oh, how I cried for all mothers who have ever lost a child! And then I read Laurel Mountain and having been waiting eagerly for Shiloh to be published. Although the novels are set in the distant past and with groups (the Indian tribes), the relationships between the characters are so real and authentic. Lori Benton deserves every award and more for her excellent writing!
In my TBR pile at the moment is The President’s Daughter, by Bill Clinton & James Patterson, and When Twilight Breaks, by Sarah Sundin. Both will be excellent reads!
