Sneak Peek at The Killing Tide

March 27, 2019 By Dani Pettrey

Hi friends,

I’m beyond thrilled to share a sneak peek of the first book in my Coastal Guardian series. The Killing Tide releases this summer and it’s available for pre-order now.

Pre-Order the Killing Tide:

Amazon | Christian Books | Barnes and Noble

The entire series focuses on the Coast Guard Investigative Service and the Wilmington, North Carolina team.

Last summer my husband and I took a research trip to this awesome town that we visit each summer during our yearly beach trip to Topsail, Island.

My favorite part was a boat tour along the Cape Fear river.

We learned about the local area, its history as a port and even saw the location where part of Iron Man 3 was filmed.

But what I’m most excited to share with you is a short summary description of The Killing Tide:

A Corpse That Only Leads to Secrets.

An Old Flame with Danger Written All Over Her.

Things Are About to Get Very Complicated.

When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer’s boat, and the direction the clues point to will test Finn and the Guard to their limits.

The already volatile situation is complicated even further by the arrival of Gabby Rowley—Finn’s boss’s sister and an investigative reporter with unrelenting questions about the crime. Now that she’s returned, the tug on Finn’s heart is strong, but with the risks she’s taking for her next big story, he fears she might not live through it.

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can’t ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

Question for you:

Are you familiar with the Coast Guard Investigative Service? Are you excited to check out Finn and Gabby’s love story?

Thanks so much for taking time to drop by and spend a little of your day with me.

Have a blessed week!

Dani

Thanks so much for stopping by, Dana. Hope you’ll really enjoy the series. I’ve had so much fun learning about the CGIS.

I am only familiar with the Coast Guard CIS because of NCIS. They brought on the character Abby who was in charge of her own Coast Guard team and the similarities between her team and Gibb’s were almost identical.

Having a hard time waiting, but will be counting the days down! The only investigative service I’m familiar with is NCIS, NCIS L.A. and NCIS N.O., and any service used in your Alaska series!
