Studying—and Living—to My Heart’s Content

Bible Study

Bible Study

I love Wednesdays! Why? Because Bible Study Fellowship has resumed in the USA (and in many other countries around the world). And this year, BSF has added a new study to their program: the Book of Revelation.

Last week on my personal blog, I posted about the packed-to-the-rafters status of my local class. I believe the attendance is at least half-again as large as what is usual at my location; perhaps much more than that. Soon after that post, I began to hear from blog readers and Facebook friends that the same was true for their local class.

Three or four years ago, when I first heard that BSF was working on a study of Revelation, I knew it would be a highly anticipated and highly attended class. But it thrills me all the same to hear just how excited others are to dig deep into God’s word, to know it more, to know God more.

If you’re in BSF, I’d love to know. If you’ve never looked into BSF, I encourage you to do so. There just might be a class in your area. There are more than 1300 of them around the world.

College Studies

As mentioned before, I’m back in college as a student (will take me f.o.r.e.v.e.r to get my degree at this part time rate), and this term I’m taking the College Prep Math class so that I can take my actual college math class eventually. Argh! This is very slow going and won’t likely be completed in just one term. Thankfully it doesn’t have to be.

More than once I have grumbled to myself, “What difference is algebra going to make in my life at my age?”

But then a few days ago, I wanted to make an essential oil room spray, and the recipe I had was for an 8 ounce bottle. My spray bottle was 2 ounces. Okay, mostly it was easy to divide by four. But the 8 ounce recipe called for a 3/4 cup of water, so I needed to divide a fraction. And because I had just finished studying that topic, I knew how to do it. Much easier to do with decimals, BTW, and not all that hard to “eye-ball it” to get the answer. Still, I was rather proud of myself that I could get the exact amount.

“Real” Life

Other than working on a proposal, I have done very little writing over the summer. But I’m getting ready to jump into a new book and a new series.

In addition to beginning a new book, I have several different websites that I am doing for clients as well.

My hubby says, “I don’t know how you do it all.”

Bless him. There are days I think the same.

But God is good, and I’m loving the full life He has given me.

I’m impressed, Robin. Math kept me from going back to finish college. I only know $9.99 and how to add up the charge card bill so I can warn my husband it’s coming!

Glad to hear you’re working on a new book projects!

I love BSF and have attended for several years. I was also so excited to see that they added the study of Revelation to the Bible study. My Monday night class of women is HUGE! There are probably around 400 women in attendance versus the 200ish that come every other year. I am glad to hear that someone else is excited about BSF!
