Summer Author Chat with Julie

To celebrate our newly redesigned blog home, each of us Inspired by Life and Fiction authors will be re-introducing ourselves by answering the same fun questions. There will also be giveaways during the second half of June, so come back soon and often!
But for now, here are my answers to the questions:

Summer Author Chat Questions
- Favorite coffee order: Lately I’ve been enjoying Caribou’s caramel espresso shakers. Have you had one? I ask for only half the syrup but still…YUM.
- Favorite hymn or worship song: As others have said, it’s hard to choose. I’ll go with an oldie that was sung at our wedding and remains a favorite: “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”
- Writing soundtrack — or do you prefer silence? Silence all the way.
- Where we write best: I write best in my office at home, messy though it often is. Or sometimes on the deck with the umbrella up, if the weather is nice.
- Favorite summer dessert: Easy. Small Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard with extra pecans. 😊
- What’s currently on our nightstand: Miss Marple; The Complete Short Stories by Agatha Christie and The Curious Inheritance of Blakely House by Joanna Davidson Politano.

- The opening paragraph from an upcoming book: The Widow of Woodlark Cottage, coming December 2026.

Elizabeth Eaton could barely breathe. She shut the door behind herself and leaned back against it. The bedchamber felt stifling, and the wooden busk in her stays pressed against her chest. She made do with shallow sips of air when she yearned to fill her lungs with deep, calming breaths . . . and to cry. Instead, she remained still and quiet.

I enjoyed reading your favorites, Julie. I love the old hymns too, and Great is Thy Faithfulness is a good one. Excited for your next release, but December is soo… long to wait.
I finished reading A Seaside Homecoming last week, and am currently reading A Sea View Christmas. I can’t get enough of the Summers family at Sea View! Praying Sarah gets her happily-ever-after!
That blizzard sounds wonderful! Looking forward to your new book!
That espresso shaker looks amazing. Now I have a sudden urge to drive to Dairy Queen for a blizzard. LOL!!
great piece! I’d love for you to check out my latest story, and let me know your thoughts!
Love the new look and the graphics are so very nice, Julie. Hymn? I do love Great is Thy Faithfulness a lot, just like Betty. But the top of the list is still Holy, Holy, Holy! Summer dessert? Almost any flavor of ice cream. And my night stand is a bit messy – books, Bible, pen, clock, lamp – can you say clutter?
