Hairstyles of the 1890’s and a Giveaway!

August 16, 2018 By Karen Witemeyer

When I was a little girl dreaming of fairy tale romance I always pictured myself in a long dress with my hair styled in a fancy updo. That's part of the reason I was drawn to historical stories. All the dresses and fancy hairstyles! I have loved all of my book covers, but there is one sticking point that I keep poking my editor about - almost none of my heroines have period-appropriate hair! … [Read more...]

Giveaway 7/9 – 7/12

July 9, 2018 By Karen Witemeyer

This cover design takes me in a slightly different direction than most of my previous covers. My covers have been known for creating a scene, as if someone had taken a snapshot from a page in … [Read more...]

My Summer Watch List

July 6, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

I admit it. I enjoy watching television. My husband and I unwind almost every evening with a show or two previously recorded on the Tivo while we sit in our recliners--he with his computer in his lap, me with my cross-stitch. It's relaxing, entertaining, and helps maintain my creative well. The only problem is that there are some shows I enjoy that Wes refuses to watch. So my compromise is to … [Read more...]
