  1. A beachy read? I suppose something lighthearted because sunshine and waves just seem to deserve less drama.

  2. Ahh!! I’m so excited for Hatch’s story! Thanks for returning to the blog. This is how I found you and the Susa Chronicles and I’m so glad I did! (If it’s a book and I’m on the beach, it’s a beach read. LOL)

    1. Hi Joy! That is so encouraging! I’m so thankful this blog led you to my stories. I truly hope you’re delighted with Hatch’s adventure and HEA.

  3. A beach read for me is one that is set near water and takes place in a warm climate. The characters are usually in casual mode. It’s one that helps me to relax.

    1. I also default to warm, sunny settings when someone says “beach read.” There are plenty of chilly coastal locations but they don’t quite have the same connotation for me.

  4. Whatever book I’m reading on the beach! Because that’s the only think I like to do at the beach! Your series sounds fascinating! I’m adding it to my list!

    1. Thanks, D’Ann! I promise there’s still lots of happy, sunny moments despite the “dystopian” label. 🙂

  5. I think any book counts as a beach read, but it is fun to read one that is set near the water when you can actually hear the ocean in real life. 🙂

    1. Mmmmm. Yes, the sound of the waves plus some lush storytelling…I’m ready for vacation!

  6. A beach read for me is something set in summer, or has water on the cover. I enjoy reading books that share the same setting as me. 🙂

    1. I agree. Though I find myself more willing to mentally visit the beach during the winter than I am to read a Christmas novel in May.

    1. Hi Becky! Thanks for the welcome. I might have “blamed” you for a fun idea in this book while I was on the Because Fiction podcast this week. 😉

  7. Thanks for sharing about these books! I love rom-coms with depth for beach reading if it’s sunny, but if it’s stormy (I’m thinking Pacific Northwest) I go for historical or suspense.

  8. It’s not silly. The Bible says God knows when the sparrow falls, and he knows the number of hairs on our head.

I have countless examples when God did the smallest of things in my life that made a big difference.

    And His timing is perfection.

He never ceases to amaze me.

    Thank you for your post

    1. Thank you! Yes, I love that He gives us tiny encouragements in addition to wild and radical love.

  9. I’m so encouraged by your testimonies of the Lord guiding your every step and providing every need a long the way. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Thank you! I love the verse that says the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. When we hear what He’s done for another, we can better believe what He’ll do for us!

  10. Beach reads for me are a misnomer…I want something sunny and warm, but not the typical “fluff” that most people associate with Beach reads. Give me some substance, but always make it sunny side up!

    1. Ooh, this might be the perfect “beach read” for you then. A touch of the tropical with plenty of overcoming faith. 🙂
