The Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt & Facebook Live Woes

October 25, 2018 By Cara Putman

Today I wanted to let you know about the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt. These are so much fun, and a great way to meet new to you authors. I love the way that Christian authors come together to support each other like at Inspired by Life & Fiction. The scavenger hunt is another way we spread the word about each other. This time we’re giving away one of each of our books, a Kindle, and I’m running a separate giveaway tied to Delayed Justice on my website. Be sure to enter both! The hunt starts at noon MST.

Love fiction? Check out the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt. Prizes, books, and clues galore with a bonus one with @cara_putman #amreading

Don’t try to start it before noon MST, but once it’s live, go have a great time learning about some fantastic authors and collecting clues!

Tuesday night I had a Facebook Event…well, I tried. My sweet friend Rachel Dylan did so much work to make this event a success. It was another way for us to come alongside each other and share our audiences. If you like my books, you’ll like her legal suspense, and vice versa. Facebook decided to be fluky and block us from our own event. (Insert shrug here). So I did a couple Facebook lives from my personal profile. You can pop over here (insert address) and participate by commenting. I have some pretty fun giveaways of A Gilded Line bracelets, a handmade, beautiful bookmark, and books by a couple of my favorite authors (Jaime Wright and Randy Singer). There’s not a rafflecopter for that, so the way to enter is commenting.

The Facebook live videos reminded me just how much I love interacting with readers. I’ve long held to the view that a book is just words until readers spend time with it. One of the questions I asked was “why do you read Christian fiction?” Two themes emerged: 1) a love for good, clean stories that you don’t have to wonder what’s next. 2) a story that leaves you with hope.

I love that.

It’s why I tell the stories I write. It’s important to me to explore hard questions. Where is God when life hurts us? Is He really trust worthy? Does He love even me? Etc. In those questions I hope you always come away with fresh realization that He never leaves us or forsakes us. That even in our darkest moments, He was right there with us. That He’s not scared by our questions or wonderings.

I think this came through especially well in Delayed Justice. Also, Imperfect Justice is still on ebook sale for $1.99 at Amazon. If you haven’t yet, this is a great time to grab it and read it. Just in time to curly up with a blanket and a mug of tea or hot chocolate.

In case you’re curious, here’s one of the videos. Enjoy! Be sure to pop over to my Facebook page to leave a comment to enter.
