The Lord’s Prayer | Official Film Trailer

November 4, 2025 By Tamera Alexander

I love diving deeper into God’s Word—studying it through its original lens of history, geography, and cultural background. Context is crucial to understanding the Bible. Understanding what it meant to the original recipients is essential to grasping its powerful meaning for us today.

Over two thousand years ago, Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer. And as Brad Gray of Walking the Text teaching series shares, “It’s more than a prayer, it’s a blueprint for living.”

I’m so excited to see a long-anticipated project—The Lord’s Prayer—finally coming to theaters this fall.

The Lord’s Prayer is part of a global television series—THE SACRED THREAD—that’s a transformative exploration of how Jesus’s prayer unlocks the power of God to guide, heal, and renew our lives and the world around us.

Here’s a quick preview of the movie…

I hope you’ll join me in seeking out this movie this fall. On par with the likes of National Geographic, it’s the highest quality docuseries that’s ever been done on the Bible. With plans for seven seasons and beyond, this global series will change the way millions of people engage the Word of God all around the world.

Sign up to be notified when the movie releases in your area…

Something else I’m looking forward to…

In conjunction with THE SACRED THREAD television series, Bringing Heaven Here by Brad Gray and Brad Nelson (Walking the Text), releases November 25…

From the creators of the global television series THE SACRED THREAD comes a transformative exploration of the Lord’s Prayer.

WATCH the BOOK TRAILER

“Bringing Heaven Here reminds us that the Lord’s Prayer is not merely an individual expression of faith but a communal declaration of trust. It draws individuals into a community that is in awe of God’s power, amazed by his nearness, surrendered to his will, and dependent on his daily provision. This book offers readers both theological depth and practical encouragement to let this ancient prayer shape their lives today.”
— Cyndi Parker, Ph.D, Professor, Author, and Host of the Context Matters podcast

Lots to look forward to this fall.

What are you currently studying in the Word (or have recently studied)? It can be a video series, print, or audio book. I love hearing your personal recommendations and how a particular study has drawn you closer to Christ.

Blessings on your Tuesday (a Gram Tam day for me 😊),

The British are Coming series

Enjoy this preview…

Eden’s Gate Ranch,
Idaho January 1896

Roger Bernhardt stood in the parlor of the Eden’s Gate ranch house, the print on the telegram blurring before his eyes, his mind refusing to believe the news. He blinked several times to clear his vision, then read it again.

PETER BERNHARDT KILLED CARRIAGE ACCIDENT LONDON TUESDAY LAST. STOP. RETURN ENGLAND SOON AS POSSIBLE. STOP. WYMAN ACKERMAN.

Father dead? It couldn’t be true. It couldn’t be real.

“Roger?”

He looked up from the telegram in his hand and found William Overstreet in the doorway to the dining room.

Roger shook his head slowly, still attempting to deny the message.

“What is it?”

“It’s my father,” he managed at last. “He . . . he’s dead.”

“Good heavens, man.” William took a step forward. “Was he ill?”

“No. It was an accident, according to his man of business.”

“I’m sorry, Roger. What will you do now?”

Return to England was what Ackerman wanted him to do—expected him to do—and as soon as possible. It was what his father would have expected as well. But perhaps this was Roger’s opportunity to do the unexpected…

I have been doing BSF on-line–studying part of Daniel, & Esther.
Plus I have been reading through a Chronological Bible. Today I reached the 4 gospel accounts of the crucifixion of Jesus. How humbling, heart-breaking to read of all He went through to secure our salvation!

Thank you, Martha, for that encouragement to read through my chronological Bible again, especially those passages. So grateful what Christ endured for us.

I’m doing BSF on-line also and loving it. I’m actually in a group with Robin (Lee Hatcher) and two other dear friends, so it’s really special to be studying that together. Appreciate you sharing today!

    Hi Tammy,
I always enjoy your recommendations. This one sounds really good.

Sunday night I had the opportunity to view “Oracles of God – the New Testament”, playing in limited theaters and put out by CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network). My daughter-in-law works for CBN, and her boss took his employees to a screening. I was invited to go along. This was an amazing movie, telling how the New Testament was written and spread. Apparently, there was an “Oracles of God – the Old Testament”, which I did not know about, but am now interested in seeing.

Tonight the new pastor at my church is beginning a short Bible study based on Adam Hamilton’s “The Walk”. Sub title is Five Essential Practices of the Christian Life. I read the first chapter last night which was “Worship and Prayer”. Looking forward to this study.

Thanks again, and blessings on you and your family, especially those precious grandchildren.

How interesting, Betty. I’ll check out that movie. Same for Adam Hamilton’s book. I just downloaded a sample to my Kindle. Thanks. Blessings to you, too, and thanks for the kind words about our grands. Ari is currently asleep. Leo, ahem, bless him, is not. He’s almost 3 now and doesn’t always take a nap. But he usually plays quietly in his bed and rests. We’ll see about today…

    Wow. That looks amazing!

Our ladies’ Bible Study at church is working through Sinclair Ferguson’s small but powerful book, Worthy. It is a look at Paul’s admonition for us to walk worthy of the gospel and what that means. It’s been great!

Oh D’Ann! I just started Sinclair Ferguson’s Union with Christ, as recommended in a systematic theology study I did earlier this fall. I’ve just downloaded a sample of Worthy and appreciate you sharing it with me, friend.
