Tour Highlight: Returning to Painswick
One of the highlights of the recent group tour I hosted in June was returning to Painswick in Gloucestershire, England with a wonderful group of American, Canadian, and Dutch (Netherlands) travelers. I think many of them were charmed by the village (just as I was the first time I visited) with its beautiful church and churchyard (famous for its 99 yew trees), as well as many quaint stone cottages and shops.

Carol Maxwell (from Painswick’s local history society, who helped me research the book) led us on informative walking tour around the town, sharing many interesting facts and amusing anecdotes. Several travelers asked for a photo of me holding the book in front of the Court House, the inspiration for Painswick Court. I was happy to oblige.

During the walk, we also stopped at Handmade in Painswick, a lovely shop that sells copies of Whispers at Painswick Court among its many tempting items for sale. How fun and flattering to see the book on a shelf in Painswick itself!

After the tour, my husband and I visited with local readers and writers over lunch at the Falcon Inn. What a privilege.
Again, it was a genuine pleasure to visit Painswick again and introduce others to the place—many of whom have read this romantic whodunit for themselves. Finally, I’m delighted to say that Whispers at Painswick Court has been on the ECPA bestseller list for several months now, thanks to readers like you, and I am grateful!

Love your books and am rereading The Apothecary’s Daughter since I am awaiting your new one in the fall. Just finished Clarence Thomas’s book on his life. Keep writing and we will keep buying! Have a great day and God bless!
