Yesterday Joe and I had a mini-date and went to see Christmas with The Chosen, and oh… I cannot recommend it highly enough. If it’s in a theater near you (click the image to find out) and you have time to go, please do. Not only to support the series but because it is phenomenal! I loved every minute and am eager to see it again.
The movie is doing REALLY well in the theaters too, which is great to hear. It should be on The Chosen app soon, I think. Before Christmas, I’m betting (but don’t quote me).
I shed quite a few tears as the scenes unfolded (as did people around me, judging by the sniffling), and those scenes are still resonating inside me.
I’m so grateful for The Chosen and for how scores of people are coming to Christ because of its message, and are also gaining a deeper love for the Bible. Watching the series has certainly deepened my own love and appreciation for the living, breathing Word of God. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, please enjoy…
As Joe and I were leaving the theater, I caught sight of another something special across the lobby!
Redeeming Love the movie—the novel based on Francine Rivers’ bestselling novel—opens in theaters on January 21, 2022, and I am so stinkin’ excited to see it! In fact, a dear friend and my two daughters and I already have tickets! Do you?
But the real question… How many times have you read Redeeming Love? I’ve read it at least 5 times over the past several years, and I know many of you have read it more than that!
Have you seen the trailer?
In celebration of the movie’s release, I’m giving away two copies each of three of Frani’s novels this month (one book each for six separate winners). Click the image below if you’re interested in entering to win.
Lastly, Becky (Wade) shared about the 2021 Christmas Blessing Giveaway last week—and you have 1 more day to enter! There are no hoops to jump through. You don’t have to sign up to receive 4,897 newsletters. You don’t even have to like us on BookBub. 🙂 All you have to do to enter? Promise to pay forward a blessing during this Christmas season. That’s it!
I hope you’ll take a minute to enter. There are lots of fun gifts to win! PLUS! We’ve created a FREE recipe booklet with some of our favorite holiday recipes. Whether you enter the giveaway or not, you’re welcome to nab it! 😉
Let me know if you’re planning to see Christmas with The Chosen or Redeeming Love in theaters—and I’d love to know what one of your favorite “go to” recipes is for the holidays. If you have a minute, share the recipe with us! I really appreciate having tried and true recipes from friends.
Now back to writing. I’m on the homestretch with another novel—my first contemporary (out next year)—and I’m busy wrapping things up, soooo ready to reach The End. But even more, to share this story with you.
Hugs from Nashville,
Tammy

We have tickets to see it tomorrow night in Cape Girardeau, Missouri! Can’t wait! And I’m hoping we see that Redeeming Love poster saying it’s coming to our local theater soon too!
Tamera Alexander says
I hope so too, Deb! Wish we could see it together. 🙂
Angie says
I love the Chosen, too, and I cried the first time I saw the REDEEMING LOVE trailer. So many fans of the book have told me they hope the movie “isn’t cheesy,” and I can attest that it’s not. It’s going to be as amazing as the book, so I hope everyone will go see it! Thanks, Tammy, for helping share the news!
Tamera Alexander says
I agree, Angie. NOT cheesy! Not happening. I hope everyone will grab 10 friends and go see it, then take some time afterward to digest the message and celebrate the truth of God’s undeserved compassion and grace.
Betty Strohecker says
I’ve only read Redeeming Love once, some years ago. Maybe time to reread, which I almost never do. Looking forward to the movie.
Tamera Alexander says
We’ll have to have a “debriefing” after the movie, Betty. Can’t wait. 🙂
Angie Quantrell says
I don’t think our theaters have Christmas with the Chosen. Or Redeeming Love. Now I will have to investigate. Rats. Just went and looked. Nope. We do not have it in our theaters. Might need a road trip… Thanks for the info and all the goodies (like the recipes!). Yummers. I can’t wait to get cooking.
Tamera Alexander says
Rats indeed, Angie! Hope a city near to you will have Redeeming Love. Christmas with The Chosen you’ll be able to watch free on the app! Which I’ll be doing again right along with you. Happy cooking, friend!
Debbie Mueller says

½ c. chopped pecans
½ c. sliced almonds

In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until pale in color.
Add melted butter and almond flavoring. Mix until well combined.
Stir in flour, cranberries and chopped pecans.
Pour evenly into pan. Top with sliced almonds.
Bake 45-60 minutes at 350*F. (Cake is finished when toothpick comes out clean.)
Cool a bit and serve with your favorite tea or coffee.

Christmas with The Chosen is fabulous!

Isn’t it though, Caryl!

My life group from church went to The Chosen Christmas last week. My favorite part was the monologue about peace. It tied into the verse my verse mapping group was studying, Isaiah 9:6. I hope this will hit the app or YouTube at some point as I really want to listen to it again.
Tamera Alexander says
Me too, Sandi. I LOVED the monologues. Shalom was my favorite as well. It struck a chord inside me, for sure. Will be watching it again “with you!”
Deena Adams says
I’m going to see The Chosen movie tonight with our church life group and I can’t wait! And I’ll definitely be going to see Redeeming Love! I’ve been excited about that one for a while. Loved the book and have read it several times.
Merry Christmas, Tamera!
Tamera Alexander says
Merry Christmas to you too, Deena! Hope you guys enjoyed the movie and music. Season 3 is almost fully funded now. Can’t wait for them to start filming.
