Many of us are watching the TV series The Chosen about the life of Jesus, which just ended its second season. If you’re enjoying The Chosen, I think you’re going to absolutely devour Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus by Lois Tverberg.

We’ll stop there but I hope this has whet your appetite for this book—that I’ve read numerous times now. Have you read any of Lois Tverberg’s books? If not, you’re in for a veritable feast!

And I’d love to help set the table for you. So…

A few more of Lois’ remarkable studies on Jesus

I’m giving away TWO COPIES of Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus this month (either print or Kindle, your choice) and you can enter to win by following the instructions in the Rafflecopter box below.

What’s a non-fiction book about growing in Christ/learning more about Christ that you’ve read numerous times? A book you pick up from time to time to reread because it resonates with “the eternal” that God’s planted inside us all?

I’m always eager to add books to my library that will help me grow closer to Jesus. So please share!

Much love from Nashville,

Tammy

I love Lois’s books too and I’ve learned so much from them. Lois is a dear friend of mine and we live in the same town. It would be fun for the three of us to get together some time.

I did not know that, Lynn! How cool, and sign me up for that lunch anytime. My treat. I’m grateful to you both for writing books that draw me closer to Rabbi Jesus.

The books sound so interesting. I’m currently doing the Bible study, The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi by Kathie Lee Gifford and I’m reading the companion book. What a difference in interpretation when we read through a Middle Eastern lens instead of our western lens.

I also did the Bible study Jesus and Women by Kristi Mclelland this year and wow, what an eye opener! I highly recommend it.

Another non fiction I’ve really enjoyed is A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by Philip Keller. It’s a beautiful comparison to our Great Shepherd and how He relates to us as His sheep.

I’ve read all of those books, Deena, so share your hearty endorsement of them. And I had the blessing of going to Israel with Kristi in 2019. She’s a dear friend, and I and several girlfriends got to participate in the taping of Jesus and Women by LifeWay. Talk about a fun experience. I’ve been through that study three times now. So rich! God’s Word is a feast beyond compare!

Hi Tammy. Thanks for the recommendation, will check it out. So far I only read Reading the Bible with Rabbi Jesus by Lois Tverberg. If you are not already familiar with Rabbi Jason Sobels (from The Chosen 😊) books (Mysteries of the Messiah and Breakthrough) I think you will definitely like them. What a treat to go to Israel with Kristi. I would like to go some day with Kristi or Rabbi Jason. Have a great day.

Thanks for that recommendation, Coco. Yes, I have some of his books but not Mysteries of the Messiah. Have it now. And amen to Israel. I’m praying God opens that day for you to go with one of them. I’d love to go back too, Lord willing.
