What’s New in 2022

January 21, 2022 By Jody Hedlund

With as busy as I am, sometimes I know I’m confusing my readers with everything I have going on! (I honestly confuse myself sometimes too!) So in an effort to give the bigger picture, I thought I’d take today’s post to outline what to expect from me over the coming year.

As you know, in this month of JANUARY, my second Waters of Time book, NEVER LEAVE ME, hit shelves. If you haven’t yet gotten your copy, then take advantage of this special with Baker Book House!

In FEBRUARY, I’ll be in full swing with my new adventure with Sunrise Publishing as their Season 7 author. Aspiring historical romance authors who are interested in publication can submit an audition (due Feb. 28). Three authors will be chosen to carry on my popular Bride Ship Series while being mentored by me. Take a moment to read more about publishing through Sunrise to see if this might be a good fit for you: https://sunrisepublishing.com/current-seasons-2/

In MAY my third Colorado Cowboy book releases, TO TAME A COWBOY. This book carries on the McQuaid family saga with Brody’s long-awaited story! Be on the lookout for sign-ups for my launch team in March (available to those who are a part of my Facebook Reader Room).

In JUNE, ENSNARED releases! This is the third book in my Knights of Brethren story and continues the adventures the special group of knights that serve with King Ansgar (from Entwined Book 2). This newest installment gives dashing and daring Gunnar his happily ever after and involves a quest for a sacred chalice rumored to bring healing. Here’s the cover that was just revealed this week!

In JULY, ENRICHED hits shelves. The fourth book in the series, it tells the story of Torvald and his journey toward true love as he works with Gunnar to locate the holy chalice in time to save the queen. And here’s the cover of this beauty (with many thanks to Roseanna White Designs for her stunning covers!).

In SEPTEMBER, I’ll be heading to St. Louis where I’ll be participating in ACFW’s Storyfest for Readers! If you haven’t registered yet for Storyfest, you are welcome to use my code (jodhedlund) for a discount. I hope to see you there! And while at ACFW, I’ll also be teaching a Continuing Education class for historical writers.

In OCTOBER, book four in my Colorado Cowboy Series releases, FALLING FOR THE COWGIRL. The cover is currently being developed, so I can’t show all of it to you just yet. But I can tell you that this story is about Ivy McQuaid, the youngest and only girl in the McQuaid family. Her story was a TON of fun to write, and I hope you’ll thoroughly enjoy reading it!

While I don’t have firm dates, I am hoping to add into the mix a third book in my Waters of Time Series. AND Books 5 & 6 in my Knights of Brethren series are heading into editing and cover development, so they also may be available this year!

Whew! There you have it! And on a personal note, I’m also excited that one of my twin daughters will be having her wedding in July!

Jody – I’m exhausted after reading that post. Wow! You never cease to amaze me with all you accomplish. And how exciting about your daughter’s wedding! My first kiddo is getting married this May – Wyatt, my middle child. I’ve got it easier with being mother of the groom as far as planning goes, so I can only imagine the excitement and time involvement with being mother of the bride. Enjoy every minute!

Hi Karen! Congrats on Wyatt getting married this May! It’s a fun time of planning and thankfully my daughter is super organized and on top of things! But I’m sure it will get busy as the time draws closer! Hope you enjoy every minute too!

The Knights of the Brethren series covers are breathtakingly beautiful. Who publishes these? Such a busy year!

      Betty,
The Knights of Brethren are independently published and Roseanna White designs the covers! She really does a stunning job!

Thank you, Jody. I have become a fan of Roseanna’s over the past year, so am glad to know this. She does do an amazing job.

I am always amazed at the number of books that you have published each year. I imagine you like a Disney princess with a group of little woodland characters or castle furnishings helping you write your books (or, at least, keeping your housework done).
The Knights of the Brethren covers are beautiful. I honestly thought the chalice was a part of the dress on the cover for Ensnared until I saw it again on Enriched.

      Hi Ruby,
I love your analogy! I wish I was a Disney princess with woodland creatures to help me clean my house! Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Thankfully my hubby and kid pitch in (not without some nagging!). And the cooking often slides by the wayside. But when the stories beckon to be told, what is a writer to do?! 😉

You are going to be one busy lady this year. But it seems you always are. Congratulations on your daughter’s wedding, how exciting. And the covers as they go by become more stunning.

Thank you for sharing this great year for you.

    Blessings

Wow, Jody! Such a lot going on, both with your writing and with life! As others have said, the covers are stunning, especially for the Knights of the Brethren, but also the Waters of Time. So different, yet so intricate. Lovely.
    Congratulations on your daughter’s wedding.

Wow! You have lots going on. So many good books so little time to read.
My new thing in 2022 is trying to get used to my new normal without my husband of almost 45 years. He passed away from cancer in August of 2021 and I have barely been surviving. This is a lonesomeness I never had and it’s so hard and sad. My life has totally changed and I miss him so much.

Excited to learn that a third book in the Waters of Time series is a future release. I throughly enjoyed the first two.

Wow! You are one busy lady! I am just starting Come Back to Me! I love it it feels so different from all of your other stories for me, perhaps because it is modern and looking to the past. I love any kind of time travel. Have a great year I will be reading you as always! Mary
