Reading is usually a solitary endeavor. However, there is something special about sharing the experience with a friend. Being able to talk about favorite characters, debating plot twists, crying together over the sad moments, and celebrating the triumphs is a rare joy. As wonderful as books are for individuals, they can be even better when shared.
That is why I wanted to try something a little different in giving away some of my author copies of More Than Words Can Say. I’m going to give away five autographed copies of Zach and Abigail’s story, but there’s a catch. You cannot enter for yourself, you can only enter on behalf of a friend.
The idea is to share a story you love with a friend you love.
Not only will your friend receive a copy of the book if your entry is selected, but they will also receive a personal message from you included in the congratulatory letter I send.
You may nominate up to three friends for the prize, but only US mailing addresses are eligible.
UPDATE: Congratulations to
– Joan Arning
– Kathy Johnson
– Kayla Elkington
– Leah Watson
– Julie Jobe
Your friends will be receiving a copy of More Than Words Can Say!
What are your favorite bookish activities to share with a friend?
Oh, and if you haven’t gotten a copy of Zach and Abigail’s story for yourself yet, I can hook you up with a great deal on the e-book version. More Than Words Can Say is currently on sale for only $1.99 at all e-retailers. Some have found the price point as low as $1.59. Can’t beat that! So grab a copy while you can!

This is a fantastic idea! I love to discuss books with my friends. When the Harry Potter series first came out, my daughter and I would fight over who would read our copy first, then wiggle expectantly as the other person read, in anticipation of the spirited discussion of the plot and themes. Thank you for this opportunity!

Thanks, Rebecca! I remember digging out my copies of the Anne of Green Gables series, a tad yellowed with age, for my daughter to read and being excited to hear her thoughts on these books I loved as a young teen. It’s fun to share books with our kids!

What a fun give away!! I would want my two daughters to have their own copies of your book. I love just talking about books with friends, sharing our favorite parts and commiserating over the hard/hurtful things. Thanks for writing such fun stories to share with friends!
