It’s Almost Christmas Reading Time

October 18, 2023 By D'Ann Mateer

Every year I look forward to November and December, when my reading takes on a seasonal theme. I used to just read Christmas-themed books in December. Then I moved to “after Thanksgiving Day.” Now, I give myself two entire months!  Not that I only read Christmas books during those weeks, but I do make them a priority. Prince Edward Island

October 4, 2023 By D'Ann Mateer

We love traveling to literary places. Way back in the spring, before we knew all the challenges we would face this year, Jeff scheduled our vacation to Prince Edward Island. If you are from Texas, you might know some of our other stresses due to my husband’s former job. Not to mention health issues of several close friends, lots of travel and job stress. The Lord has been faithful in many, many ways, not the least of which have been through our … [Read more...]

August 16, 2023 By D'Ann Mateer

I’ve read romance my whole life—along with a lot of other things. But even in my romance reading, I’ve never been the type to have “book boyfriends”. I enjoy the romance as a whole, and I very often feel a connection with the heroine in that. But rarely do I sigh and swoon over a hero after the book is closed. At least not since I was a teenager! (Maybe this is because, as Emma Woodhouse said, “I … [Read more...]
