Hi friends, Excited to be here with you today. I always love spending this time with you! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and am guessing most of you have your tree up and decorated…maybe even have most of your gifts bought or cookie baking days planned. I’m right there with you, but God has invaded my heart this Christmas in a way I hadn’t anticipated. My husband and … [Read more...]
How I Celebrated My New Book’s Birthday
Last week, we celebrated the release of a new novel at my annual book launch at my nearest local bookstore. This is always a highlight of my publishing year, thanks to the many friends and readers who show up to celebrate with me. The Benefits of a Rapid Release Schedule
Most of my books release anywhere from six to nine months apart, which has worked really well in juggling the work involved in getting the books ready for publication. However, this past fall with my new Lost Princesses series, I decided to do something a little different and release the books in quicker succession, approximately one a month. First, since I already had all the books written, I … [Read more...]
My Top 5 Moments from Frozen II
It is normal operating procedure to go see a movie during the Thanksgiving break around our house. Usually, we go as a family, but this year, circumstances interfered so it ended up being just me and my daughter who hit the theater on Saturday morning. There was no question in either of our minds what we were going to see. Being the Disney Fairy Tale junkies that we are, we had to go see Frozen … [Read more...]
Our 2nd Annual Thanksmas

It works out best, at least right now, for our boys to go to their in-laws over Christmas, and so we do Thanksgiving and Christmas in one fell swoop in order to get to do it together. The kids starting trickling in on Tuesday. By … [Read more...]
Getting critiqued
For the past almost-eighteen years now, I have worked with a writing critique partner on every book. That crit partner has become one of my dearest friends and is none other than IBLF's own Tamera Alexander. Tammy and I met in October 2002 at the very first ACFW Conference in Kansas City. She wasn't yet published at the time but offered to critique a novella I was struggling with. (It's no … [Read more...]

Gratitude and Grace
Hi friends, Excited to be sharing a little bit of today with you. I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow. I love that we have a day of thanks set aside to celebrate all God has blessed us with. I think it’s so easy (and I’m speaking from experience, unfortunately) to get wrapped up in preparing for the holiday season and we forget to stop, breath, and let thankfulness and gratitude to … [Read more...]
