Deb’s Favorites

May 25, 2025 By Deborah Raney 4 Comments

We hope you are enjoying these weekly feature posts from the authors of Inspired by Life…and Fiction. We’re sharing some of our favorite things to help you get to know us a little better—and we’d love to hear your answers to these “favorites” questions in the comments below.

Favorite Beverage (whether hot or cold): I love a piping hot Americano with heavy cream. (And no, I don’t mean a latte or cafe au lait. Those are both too milky and/or sweet.) I like strong espresso watered down, no sweetener, and just enough cream added so it doesn’t cool down my drink. Mmmm!

Favorite Color (and why): I’ve always loved red, but for many years now, my very favorite color is a perfect mix of blue-green. You’ll see various shades of this color all over our house and it just makes me happy!

Favorite Thing You Collect: I collect a lot of things from globes to teapots to houseplants, but my favorite collection that I use every day has to be my coffee mugs. I have over 100 of them and each one has a story!

They love road trips, e-biking, Friday garage sale dates, and breakfast on the screened porch overlooking their wooded backyard.

    Good morning Deb!

Those are tough questions….I can’t live without my decaffeinated iced tea, with lots of ice of course.
My favorite coffee is Betty’s Recipe from Roasterie. I can even drink that one black.
While my favorite color is royal blue, i decorate more with accents of turquoise.
Over the years my “collection” has changed with the times. My husband says we have way too many coffee mugs so I try to do the one in, one out method. Currently I’m trying to collect the ‘Classics’ books.

I love all these, Michele! I miss the Roasterie!! One of my favorite mugs is from there! (The red one with the unicycle in the photo above.) I know about one of your turquoise accents! 🙂
