[AND THE WINNER OF BRIDGES IS…Betsy Hale! Congratulations, Betsy. Please e-mail me at debraney@mac.com for details on how to get your book.]
Since in-person conferences, book signings, and other gatherings have been so slim (to none!) this past year, it’s been extra fun to be part of some Zoom interviews recently.
Yesterday, my Books & Brew interview with author Andrew Huff went live on YouTube. Andy is such a fun interviewer, and his special feature of sharing a cup of his guest’s favorite coffee or tea while we chat is just short of brilliant. Plus, it was fun for me to get to sing the praises of a favorite local coffee shop with viewers!

Earlier this summer I got to visit with our own Cara Putman via her Book Talk feature. Cara is a fellow extrovert so we had no trouble thinking of things to talk about. She does such a great job with her chats and it was a delight to visit with her.

I want to share a copy of Bridges—my newest novel and the first original indie offering from Raney Day Press—with one of our great readers here at Inspired by Life…and Fiction! All you need to do to enter this giveaway is comment on this post. I’ll choose one winner at random and announce it here tomorrow. (Be sure to check back and see if it is YOUR name I drew!)

I love your coffee bar. It makes me happy ❤️
Your coffee bar is amazing and yes, the perfect backdrop to the Books and Brews chat. What a cool idea Andrew had. I haven’t read Bridges yet so thanks for the opportunity to win a copy. 😊
Coffee and books! Thanks!
Thanks for an opportunity to win! Your coffee bar looks inviting!
I haven’t read Bridges, but will put it on my TBR list. Love that coffee bar!
I’ve listened to the interview with Cara, will have to go back and listen to Books & Brews.
Oh I love the cover art of Bridges! My friend has a wall in her cabin decorated in pictures of covered bridges and it’s always caught my attention! I’m putting it on my Goodreads TBR list right now!
I have seen bridges all over the US. I especially like the covered ones in Penn. Maybe because I went to the river as a teenager to abandon bridges to think. There were 2 near my home in Kansas. Thank you for your diligence in writing stories for those of us who only dream of being a writer.
This sounds like another wonderful read from you Ms. Raney! And that coffee sounds fabulous!
Blessings Joy
Thank you for the opportunity to win Bridges! Would love to read it!
This is the one book of yours I have not read! And I love your coffee bar! I also have coffee themed kitchen, but not as lovely as yours.
I thought the interview went well!!
How cool to be able to give a shout out to a local business! More need to do that to help keep them going during these difficult times.
Love the cover on “Bridges”! Hubby and I love seeking out old covered bridges in our travels. The book sounds amazing and is already on my TBR list. Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
Looking forward to reading Bridges.
Love the cover of Bridges! Enjoyed the interview with Cara Putman. Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of Bridges!
The cover is gorgeous, Deb. It reminds me of the bridges in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Thanks for the giveaway! Your interview with Cara is on my list for things to listen to! Have a wonderful day!
So excited to read Bridges.😀 thank you for your giveaway!
A group of us women toured the covered bridges in Alabama back in the Eighties. I think there are fourteen of them. We found our own quiet spot and wrote short fiction that was inspired by the bridge and then compiled them into a booklet for each of us. Such a fond memory! I really like the cover of your new book and look forward to reading it.
Cute coffee bar! I’d love to be entered in the drawing for Bridges.
I love that Coffee Bar!!! Looking forward to reading your new book…Bridges!!
I love your mug cabinet, Deb! I’m a tea drinker and I love drinking out of fun mugs, but they are always hidden away in a cabinet, I love the idea of finding a way to keep them on display.
What a lovely coffee bar!
This book sounds amazing, so I MUST put it on my TBR list! Thanks for the giveaway!!
Any spot in your house would be a great back drop!
I can’t wait to read Bridges!
Thank you for the chance to win Bridges! Would love to read it!
Can’t wait to read this!
Cute coffee bar but I think your Chinook is the bomb digity 😉
Wow, so much fun! I hope to squeeze in time to watch your interview. Love that you can use your coffee wall as a background and Andrew drinks your favorite drink! Congrats all around!
Deb, You and I share a love of mugs. I just bought a new one during our recent trip to New Orleans, and my husband asked me which of my other mugs I’d “retire,” to make room for it. Thankfully, I was able to do some rearranging to make it fit my glass-front cabinet. I too, love the cover of Bridges, and I bet you and Ken rode your bikes through that bridge! Would love to read the book and add it to our book club reading list!
I love how you decorate your home, outside spaces, & your RV. Such inspiration for all of us who follow you on Facebook. I also love all of your books. I’ve been waiting to hear about a new release. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the opportunity to win Bridges! Would love to read it!
Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I don’t reply to comments when we’re running a giveaway, but know that I read them all and appreciate them so much! Don’t forget to watch this post tomorrow to see if you’re the lucky winner!
I love your coffee bar! Such happy colors. ❤️
Your newest novel sounds amazing! I’d love to read it! Your books are always so inspiring! And what a beautiful cover!
I’ve always been fascinated with covered bridges. It’s a shame that so many have been vandalized and burnt over the years. The cover is very intriguing. I look forward to the read.
Haven’t read a book of yours for awhile. SO I need to do that! Love the things you pick up at garage sales. It’s such fun to see the pictures of your “finds.”
Love your books Deb, and it was a great podcast! An incident surrounding Bridges of Madison County inspired my first novel but I moved the setting to SW Kansas. 😊
Hi Deb! I would love to read Bridges, as I’m taking the summer off from classes to relax before getting back to work in the fall. I’m reading anything not school-related! 🙂

Love your coffee bar! Tgg he Amos for the opportunity to win your book!!
I’d love to read it!
Coffee and books. Not much better. Thanks for giveaways. All those mugs are awesome.
The bonus to having to do Zoom interviews is that those of us who missed the original interview can watch (& share) anytime! I do love in person, don’t get me wrong, but this is a good filler until life gets closer to ‘normal’ again.
I love your books! I just loaned my entire (paperback) Deb Raney collection to my coworker who has never read your books. 😁
I can’t wait to read this new book!
I would love to read your book Bridges. Your coffee bar looks so welcoming!
Keep advertising Missouri!
Tea and books…perfect pair.
I love Cara Putnam’s books 🙂
I enjoy book chats. They are a great way to learn more about new-to-me authors as well as authors I already follow.
I’ve always enjoyed your coffee bar… even though I’m not really a coffee drinker! 😉 I look forward to reading your latest book! We’ve got some great old covered bridges here in Alabama but I haven’t made it to all of them yet. Thanks for the giveaway!
Bridges has such a pretty cover : )
I would love to win!
I can’t wait to read Bridges! This has already been an amazing summer for reading!
AND THE WINNER OF BRIDGES IS…Betsy Hale! Congratulations, Betsy. Please e-mail me at debraney@mac.com for details on how to get your book.
Thanks again for all the great comments! You guys are the best!
I just now saw this interview/chat and loved it. I especially liked the part about being a panster within the boundaries of being plotter since that is how I write. I outline and know where I’m going but within a scene my characters have been known to take over and I love that. One time I found out my heroine’s sister was adopted through their dialogue. I stopped writing and stared at the computer screen and said, “I didn’t know she was adopted.” LOL I also loved hearing about your fave coffee in what I call Cape G. I have a fave coffee brewer in Madison WI and love their coffee so much.
