Cover Reveal x2

February 2, 2022 By D'Ann Mateer

As you know, I’m re-releasing my Anne Mateer books under my real name—D’Ann Mateer. Same books, new author name, new covers.  I’m so excited to share the next two with you, both designed by author extraordinaire, Roseanna White.  It’s funny, but reading these books back to back (and for the first time in over 10 years!) to get all the typos, etc, made me realize how similar the … [Read more...]

The Stories in Old Books

January 19, 2022 By D'Ann Mateer

As you know, I’ve been cataloguing the books in my library. I got about half done via barcode, but the other half? Too old for barcodes! So I’ve been inputting them manually, little by little. The other day I did a shelf of Grace Livingston Hill novels. I have a ton of them! Most are reprints from the 1970s-1990s, but a few are the old, hardbound books with fragile pages. My Favorite Year End Task

January 5, 2022 By D'Ann Mateer

Some seventeen years ago, I was discouraged. After five years of writing, my motivation to continue was waning. Counting Down to Christmas

December 15, 2021 By D'Ann Mateer

As we get closer to the day on which we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the frenzy of parties and gift-buying, school programs and charitable drives dies down, leaving days in which it is finally possible to enjoy some seasonal delights. While our Christmas Day celebration will be very subdued this year with all of the kids elsewhere, there are still some of my favorite things to look forward to as … [Read more...]

Done!

December 1, 2021 By D'Ann Mateer

Yesterday afternoon I sent my book off to my editor, so I did a happy dance! I have to say, I’m both exhausted and pretty proud of myself! After all, I haven’t written on a deadline in 8 years, so I was a bit rusty as far as rhythm goes. But I managed to get back into the groove. This was also a much shorter timeline than I’ve ever written on before, which was both a challenge to meet and a … [Read more...]
