Saying Goodbye

November 16, 2022 By D'Ann Mateer

As you read this, we are on our way home from the East Coast, where we’ve traveled twice in the past two weeks.  On Oct. 31 we got word that Jeff’s mother had passed away. While she hadn’t been in great health, the conversation the prior week was about moving her to assisted living, not end of life issues. She lived in Pennsylvania, in a small town a 3 hour drive from any major airport. … [Read more...]

We started our visit at Sweet Jordan's, a wonderful restaurant that happens to serve some of the best bread pudding we've ever had! Sweet Jordan's is an extraordinary, not-to-be-missed … [Read more...]

A Life Well Lived

October 27, 2022 By Cara Putman

Two weeks ago, my 96 year-old grandmother had a stroke. Saturday we will have her celebration of life ceremony. We were blessed as a family to spend an amazing three days together around my daughter's wedding at the beginning of September, and I am so very grateful. I have lived the last six years with a growing awareness that any visit could be the last. Still those few days between her stroke … [Read more...]
