Thanksgiving!

November 28, 2014 By Becky Wade

I love spending holidays with my husband's family.  They live nearby and so we're able to share almost every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween, etc with them. Because my family is so spread out, we spend far fewer holidays together.  I was raised in California.  My parents and one of my sisters still live in my hometown.  I live in Dallas and my other sister lives in Houston.  We're … [Read more...]

A Few Lessons I Learned From My Grandma

November 21, 2014 By Jody Hedlund

My sweet 95 year old grandmother died this week. You may recall that I wrote about visiting her this past summer and how seeing her weakened, frail, demented condition broke my heart. The temps were in the 40s and 50s, but thankfully the rain stopped before we arrived and the rest of the weekend was sunny and crisp.   We aren’t hardy enough to go tent camping in such cold weather. (Although we saw several … [Read more...]

A Month of Remembrance

October 13, 2014 By Deborah Raney

While October is one of my favorite months of the year, it is also a month of reflection and fond, but sad, remembrance. I'm the oldest of the five Teeter children, and growing up on a farm eight miles from our town, my favorite playmates (because they were my only playmates!) were my brother and three sisters. To this day, we remain dearest of friends. I think we are closer than … [Read more...]
