My Favorite Mysteries

November 3, 2021 By D'Ann Mateer

I’m currently working on a mystery novel for an upcoming Guideposts series, so I’ve been thinking a lot about mysteries lately. The truth is I love mystery stories. I love reading them and watching them. But before now, I was scared to tackle writing one! And yet here I am. It’s been a learning curve, for sure, but it’s been fun to figure out how to set up the clues and the tension and them make … [Read more...]

Cover Reveal

October 21, 2021 By Karen Witemeyer

The cover for the third book in the Hanger's Horsemen series is here! Luke Davenport's story is one step closer to publication! Over two years later, it became obvious the blog would be better served if it had its own website. I no longer remember if the website name (writesofpassage) was already in use or if we simply wanted a new name … [Read more...]

Hanging Out with Book People

October 7, 2021 By Karen Witemeyer

The pandemic has really cut down on the amount of writing-related travel I've ben able to do over the last year and a half. So when the opportunity arose to speak on a panel at the Lubbock Book Festival, I was excited to volunteer. There is just something that makes my heart happy about hanging out with book people. And since the festival took place in the public library, we were surrounded by … [Read more...]
