Hi friends, and happy Wednesday!
I just returned from the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville,
Tennessee. You might wonder why an author would attend a broadcaster’s convention,
but it’s for all forms of Christian media and Christian communicators. I never really
thought of a book in the terms of media per se, but the definition of media is:

NRB does a fantastic job of welcoming authors. They offer book signings, of which I got
to participate in three. One for One Wrong Move, one for Two Seconds Too Late, and
one with Lynette Eason for the new release, Whiteout. If you haven’t checked out these two
suspenseful, snowbound adventures, you can grab your copy wherever books are sold.

NRB offers a wide array of workshops on everything from podcasting to a class on
Restoring Strength for the Journey. But it’s really the connections you make that I love.
Whether it’s on the show floor where hundreds and hundreds of booths are set up with
everything from publishing to groups like Turning Point and missions like Advance
Camp, which is a day camp held for fatherless young men (in 6th – 12th grade) to come
and learn practical skills that dad would have taught him if he were involved in his life. In
addition to building a strong foundation through these practical skills, the dedicated
mentors help teach them how to be rooted and established in Christ. I met the guys who
run this ministry, and they were fabulous.

My favorite booth has to be the AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers) booth. AWSA
is a prenominal organization for writers and speakers. If you’re a published author or
you speak professionally, it is so rewarding to be a member. There are classes, promotion
opportunities, and a deep heart for ministry.

Speaking of speakers, NRB had some amazing ones. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth,
spoke at the 250 th America celebration dinner, actor Kevin Sorbo hosted the Crown
Awards for Christian filmmaking, and Shannon Bream, Fox News Anchor, shared her
heart at the Media Leadership dinner.
It was an amazing time, and I walked away blessed on many levels. If you’re in any realm
of Christian media, I cannot recommend the NRB Convention enough.
Reader Question: What is an event you enjoy attending?
Blessings,
Dani

That sounds like a stellar time!
I would love to attend Storyfest where I would get to meet authors.
Storyfest is a great place to meet authors, I’ve heard 🙂 Hope you’re able to make it one day.
Two questions…1) Where in Nashville? Looks like Opryland Hotel Would’ve loved to drop by and said ‘hello’ 2) What happened to your foot? Although, I must say the boot matches your dress perfectly 🙂
It was at the Opryland hotel. I broke it in 4 places, unfortunately. But glad it matched my dress 😀
I like book signings by authors, but I haven’t traveled to any lately due to health issues. I would love to attend Rendezvous.
Hope you’re feeling better soon and can make Rendezvous.
I live in Australia but I’d love to come over and attend an author event sometime! I know you’re all just people like the rest of us but I reckon I’d totally fan girl and embarrass myself lol.
PS praying for your foot, sounds painful. Xx
