New Jobs and Conference Time

September 17, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

Last month, I shared a post about the change I was facing in my day job. (If you didn't see it, you can read that post here.) Well, I'm happy to announce that I survived the transition! Or at least I have so far. This is my first week in the new job. I've been busy with training and learning new systems and have been on the phone with the Help Desk about 47  times to get all my technology working … [Read more...]

A Little Music With Your Reading …

September 3, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

All my life, I have adored music. I played the flute from 5th grade through my freshman year in college. Then I met my husband, and he convinced me to switch to choir. I sang in the top choral group for 3 years and a smaller group for 4, continuing during graduate school. My husband and I both sang with a community chorus for a couple years as well. Help Me Plot My Next Novella

August 20, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

August 6, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

Over the last month or so, I've been dealing with multiple transitions that have added stress and excitement to my life. No major catastrophes like death or serious illness, praise God, but significant changes nonetheless. And I've never been a big fan of change. I learned of the first major  change about 6 weeks ago. The full-time job I've known for the last 12 years of my life fell victim to … [Read more...]

The Wild West Lives On

July 16, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

About this time last year, I was down in San Antonio, Texas for the Romance Writers of America national convention. I don't attend every year, but since it was in Texas, I stole my husband away with me for a little mini-vacation. This was the first time my hubby tagged along at one of these conferences, so he and I had a lot of fun exploring in the evenings. The River Walk was gorgeous, of course, … [Read more...]
