Cherishing and Protecting Our Freedom

July 3, 2015 By Jody Hedlund

The concept of "freedom" has been on my mind a lot this year, especially since I taught U.S. History this past year to a group of high school students. I learned a LOT about the freedom that Americans purchased with their sweat, blood, and often their very lives. Teaching the class reminded me of all of the many brave and intelligent people who came before us, people who lived with integrity, … [Read more...]

A Crazy Romp at RT in Dallas

May 21, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the RT Booklovers Convention in Dallas. Stories like Harriet Tubman risking her life to return to the South to help free other slaves. Or Corrie ten Boon who risked her life to hide Jews after the Nazi invasion of Holland. I even like reading about modern day heroes such as the one during the crash … [Read more...]

Do You Believe?

April 2, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

Last Friday, a group of women from our church got together for a movie night where we went to see Do You Believe? the latest release from the Christian production company, Pure Flix. My daughter and I were among the attendees, and I must say, we had a wonderful time. The message of the film was inspiring and convicting, and I immediately found myself praying for the courage to be bolder in living … [Read more...]
